MT. Hood summer time

whats up surface?

you guys seem to know whats going on at mt. hood during the summer time, im trying to plan a trip out there around early/mid july. I was wondering if anybody had some information they had on cheap places to stay, how to get around without a car, what the park is normally like that time of the year, where to eat, anything of that sort would be very helpful.

govt camp. or crash at a persons house. hitch rides to hood / team up with other people in govy. the park will be okay. snow levels were pretty good this year so they have snow to work with. eat food by going to the grocery store (safeway I believe) and eating / buying food there. hitch rides again.

i think there is a bus shuttle from PDX airport to Sandy, a town relatively close to govy.

p.s. if you camp, have a decent tent....and a grill.

go to the main forum and ask around to meet up with some kids in the area.

if you're trying to stay cheap, i suggest camping. and buying groceries. the best place is about 15 minutes away from govy, toward portland. it might be a safeway, but not too sure.
 
aight, i bought my plane tickets, where do you live out there? should i bring a sleeping bag? do you have shampoo or should i bring my own? should i bring my portable DVD player and dvd collection? do you have a gaming system?...if so what kind? caus i could bring a bunch of games, i pretty much have them all.

thanks for posting me up, my mom is happy that i don't have to spend money on a motel room.
 
I've never gone skiing in the summer.

I'd imagine it would be quite a good time.

Sorry friends, maybe someday I'll ride skis with you.

if this works out i... happy. so happy! literally a dream come true. except in the dream i had about hood back in like march involved really really noisy chairlifts and no actual skiing. i was stuck on the roof of the top lift station with a telescope trying to be in on the action. there was no action to be in on, though. so noisy i couldn't think.

i've gotta stay cool though. smooth. keep my hopes low. there are still variables... call me, christopher!
