I'm looking into making a trip up to hood in early june. If someone could just let me know a couple things, that'd be sweet, k+

[*]public park terrain/features vs. windells park

[*]Location of the public park (on the glacier/near windells park?)

[*]summer ticket prices

[*]overall experience

thanks ns!

-windells has a rope tow, pub park doesn't. features-wise, they're both really fun. last year pub park had a 7 jump line in early june

-pub park is under windells

-$55

-great fun

Everything you ask all comes with an asterisk....how much snow Timberline gets throughout the season.

Great snow year...long public park more features

bad snow year....smaller public park less features

Summer ticket prices: Summer passes 2 years ago were around $900 day lift tickets were around $50 a day(i could be way off on daily lift tickets)

Public Terrain Features vs Windells park: The best way to solve this issue is to watch summer edits. The Hood Crew and then Windells session edits would be a great start. If someone is hitting a feature that does not say "Windells" or "MHSC" then most likely it is public.

Location....: Once again this falls in the asterisk category. Usually Windells is above public however still on the "glacier."

Overall Experience: I worked at Windells for the 2010 summer. In June the Public Park was awesome super fun jump line. July hit and It got smaller and smaller and eventually you could not lap public by chair but had to hike it. I think you will be safe if you are going in June just watch the snowfall on Timberline. If you do go you will not regret it. My advice if you can lap the park buy a lift ticket. If not hike and save money.

Typed on my phone hopefully that all makes sense.

meadows has something like 5 parks. anywhere from learning to expert. just got back from there and It's pretty sweet they have a little bit of everything

thanks! starting to get a better idea of it.

So the public park "lap" is with the magic mile chairlift? and how long is that lap?

off topic but not threadworthy question:

does whistler have a public park? i didnt think so but then these local snowboarders posted this edit

Pubby is awsome always, and in July it is super super easy to lap, that said, MHSSC is a great camp for half the cost of windells

I have never been to windells or MHSCC. We went there second week in July this last summer and public park was super legit and really fun. Here is the edit we made if you wanna see an example of some of the features. Keep in mind they had an epic snowpack. Who knows what this year will bring.

i was a digger at mhssc it was sick. i went through windells and hit their rail line until mhssc's cat path or i poached the shit out of windells tow rope for their "pro jump". public park is really fun. 6 jump+ line in the end may//june/july. fun rails but their park is better when the pass is $99 from mid march to may. mhssc had an awesome jump line 35 50 70 and fun rail line. windells is easy to ride in as long as u have saga or jiberish + a helmet. youll blend right in with the campers. high cascade is pretty fun to ride through as well but you have to be fast and alert + you cant fall. they dont like skier slides too much... best place to spend the summer. check it out for sure.
