ive search bared this but whos gone there whos going, when in the summer are the features/conditions best, im 18 do many kids this old go or is it like a beginer camp , whats the jump line in terms of size and input would be appreciated

i haven't been there in a while and when i did it was as a racer, but it seemed like the other freestyle camps (high cascade, windells) seemed more fun. they have cooler stuff to do off the mountain (skateparks and ummm...) and their parks always seemed a little better too.

also, this camp is definitely more younger kids, you'd be one of the oldest at 18. the one upside i noticed is that more girls went to this camp versus the other camps.

the coaches seemed pretty cool, but you don't get to see the pros throwing down.

also, best time to go is around 4th of july. the snow/scene is awesome, plus 4th of july in oregon = fun.

MHSSC is dooooope for sure not a "beginner camp" we have skate ramps, and travel to other parks and go cliff jumping and stuff too, the good thing about our camp is the coaches actually know your name and give you 1 on 1 coaching PLUUS its way cheaper.

so wait is the there lots of 16/17 18 year old kids and the lane is fun, what are the jump sizes?

Mt Hood Summer Ski Camp is legit as hell. I rode their park a good bit this past summer, and it was fucking FUN. They hands down had the best jump line on the mountain, and hands down the best vibe.

It was a 3 jump line, I think like 20 feet, 35, 50 or 60? I'm not sure on the official sizes, because they got smaller over the summer, but they were by far the dopest jumps around.

Also, they have a really sick single barrel handrail that is pretty long, and awesome to learn tricks on. The rest of the rails are mediocre, but still pretty fun. If you're trying to learn some shit on rails, you'll be able to, and you'll definitely be able to jump.

As for Windells, I don't really recommend it, it's way more $ from what I understand and they get on the hill late as fuck. Also, they leave earlier as well. You'll get much more riding in At MHSSC. Windells has some cooler rails, but they arent really shit you'll progress on. And their jumps are hard to compare to the perfectness and flow of the 3 in MHSSC.

Not to mention - Malone, Stu, Nolan and all those guys fucking kill it, and they're nice dudes too. Go to MHSSC, they might not have all the stupid perks Windells does, but odds are you will learn more. You're going to Hood to ski, not skateboard anyways, you don't need some huge retarded skate park...

This is just my opinion though, I was given the opportunity to ride both parks and enjoyed MHSSC's a little bit more. Don't get me wrong, Windells is sick, but I think for the time and money you'll be spending, MHSSC is unbeatable.

I went there the summer before 9th grade,, youll prolly be the odlest camper there.. you could always sign up as one of the kitchen workers or a digger,, that way its super cheap and youll be with cooler people

Theres plenty of campers your age, last year we has one session with a few 30-40 yr old dudes doing mistys and 270's it was sick, you'll get the most for your money at mhssc f'sho. The coaches actually coach its pretty sick, the 3 line can be anywhere from 30-40-50 to 70 at the bottom.

if my jump abilities were at my jibbing i would definitely try and coach there this year instead of Windells

windells can be kinda homo sometimes

That is funny.

Mt Hood summer ski camp is mainly a ski racing camp. They are the biggest ski racing camp on Mt hood. That means there is a ton of spandex in the house. thats gay to me, even though its not to you.

They do have some jumps and rails. MMMMMnnn but for some reason out of the past 15 years of riding Mt. Hood in the summer I have never really been impressed with MBHCs set up. it pretty much doesn't exsist during the months.

Not 100% sure why, other then the fact that they have next to nothing to ride. The truely inspiring parks on Hood during the summer time are at the other two camps HCSC and W. Those parks are sick, progressive and always on the cutting edge.

^dexter, you my friend sound "progressive" and "cutting edge"

you remind me of my friend roberto, he's always a shisty ass negative bitch informing everyone with his worthless perspective. thanks for not being at windells

Yea so mhssc might not have boxes shaped like dinosaurs or fancy all over print backpacks, but the park is dope people are dope, there is allot of racers, allot of them are girls. You get to eat REAL FOOD and dont have to pay extra for it. Its also really inexpensive.
