Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort has a fresh cut Superpipe the
first superpipe to operate this season at any West Coast ski resort. The Vista
Superpipe is accessed by the Vista High Speed Quad in an area known as the
Texas Trails.
The Superpipe is 230 feet long and features 18-foot high
walls cut by the Zaug superpipe cutter. The high walls allow for a smooth transition,
which provides pipe riders a great launch and landing for catching air and
performing tricks in the pipe. The pipe is open during scheduled Vista Express
hours from 9 AM – 3:30 PM, weather permitting. There is no additional charge
(other than lift access) to ride Meadows terrain parks, including the
Superpipe.
The Vista Superpipe adds to Meadows’ considerable early
season freestyle offerings. The resort already has three parks – a rail park on
Shipyard, a progression park on The Zoo and a jump with five rails on the Rose
City Slope Style park. The resort plans on building the popular Park Place and
Forest Parks when it receives more snow, along with the top 10 rated Olympic
sized in-ground Superpipe.
