Mt.Hood for summer ski

has anyone gone to Mt.Hood for camp? im leaving soon and was wondering if anyone had anything to say about it .... thats about it

 
i went to windells 2 summers ago, it was cool and had great terrain but they babysit you and that sucked thats what i hated and like your on a camp camp so you can't like leave and go do something

I went to Camp Revolution a few years back when Evan Dybvig was still in his first couple years of running it (and it's since then died out).

The nice part about it was that I was old enough to be able to leave, and do what I felt like doing. They didn't babysit like some of the other camps, mainly because they were so understaffed and the Phils could have cared less who did what...as long as we were on the mountain the next day.

Regardless, you'll have a good time.

so mt hood summer skiing is open all the time? just like reg ski season? are there only specific places or can i just go in the general direction and find a place to ski?

 
^ Abscratch, I think you definitely need to do a bit more research before you make the trip out to Mt. Hood.

Timberline Lodge is the ski area that's open year-round due to the Palmer Glacier.

You need to come up with a serious plan, ie: Transportation for the Portland airport to Timberline, paying for the trip as well as lodging.

i know i need more info, i am in the planning stage of a trip, so i am trying to ask as many quest as possible and get any confusion out of the way. but thank god there are helpful people like you. really appreciate all of your help.

yea ive been to windells for 2 years, they have a really nice park and stuff but its way to campy, and u have to wait in lines way to fucking long. whistler is 10x better

if the snow isnt gone...hood is WAY better than fucking canada. windells holds shit down.

to progress, rules must be broken.
 
there are two public lanes. one just open one, and one with the park. if there is alot of snow (prolly not this year), there are some other faces off to the side you can hit, but they are out of bounds. camps each have their own lanes, but all requrie hiking. its usually sunny and sick, and it will be awesome just because you are skiing, but get friendly with people at the camps so you can get in

^ Regardless of how friendly you are with those attending camps, you're not going to ski in their lanes. They let you ski within their lanes only AFTER YOU PAY THEM MONEY. Camps are not free. So please, don't count on skiing in the Windells park because you're sucking somebody's dick. Well, maybe.

i herd that they got a fair amount of snow around the end of spring break so that would help with base levels as far as the pipe goes, i guess that all just depends how much snow they have by then and as i said they did get a bit so hopefully it will be enough

im saying if you know a coach there, they might let you in, or if you pick up trash or dig for a while ive heard they let you in. but its not guranteed

well, as to my knowledge...the only person we let into our half pipe at Camp Revolution was Danny Kass...but I guess he's pro or some shit ;-)

i rode camp rev everyday i was down the last summer it was going. there were days when 7 or 8 of us (non campers) would ride rev.
