One month now until the $99 season pass at Mt. Bohemia. Don't forget to buy it ($340 otherwise). If you have never been it is the best place to get real mountain riding.

You can go to Down Wind Sports, order online or by phone on Dec 8th.

I can't wait to get some fresh snow there.

I really need to make it up there this season. I've wanted to go for so long but its SOOOO far. You really can't get any farther away in michigan.

If it snows it is completely worth it. If it doesn't...not as great. Last year was real tough on going up there. I think I made it 9 days there, which is still decent. Usually I get close to 20 days though.

When they opened up after the huge storm last year it was the best day of my life in pow. I didn't get in anything less then knee deep and had nipple deep on multiple lines. It was crazy.

It is all about hitting Bohemia during the day and the Ripley at night.

If you do come up I might be able to let you crash at my apartment. I live about 45 min south of Bohemia. I have Tuesdays and Thursdays off school. I go up on Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday most weeks depending on the snow.

If you plan on going for three days or more, call up and get the pass, since it is 42 bucks a day.

Ya it really is. I compare it to the last time I was in Steamboats back country only Bohemia has only 900 ft of vertical, which is a lot for Midwest.

Here is a couple pics.

The Bus that takes you back to the lift after riding the Glades

Shot down the Glades, as you can see it looks sick.

I guess you got to remember that we had a bad year and got 212.5 inches. Typically we sit at about 300+ with 3-4 storms of more then a foot.

Can't wait to go up there this year a few times. I'm trying to decide if I want to get a pass or not. It's a long ass drive up there, like 11 hours.

Was up there for the first time last year and it was amazing, so much fun.

The place is all of it and then some. Ive been everyyear except last year(went to porkiers instead), the place is like a mini- mt.baker. I dont get to go until late feb, but I wait for the storms. Always at least 4-6in in the times ive been there. If you can't ride bumps/moguls/trees/chutes, don't go. there is No ''park'', other than the hill itself. So most of the 12 year old park kids here probably couldnt hack it. the $99 pass is a deal I am thinking about., prob its a 7-8 hr drive from Boynes. Ill have to go twice!!!

I have never seen them tell anyone to stop or make them tear it down. I guess if you built it in a really stupid spot they might. There is a lot of little cliffs to jump off of as well. Most of the time I only see the patrol in the lodge. They are usually off checking on closed terrain to see if they can open it and steal the freshies. It is pretty laid back up there.

The patrolers at Mt Bohemia are more chill than any other place. They assume that if you are skiing there, you know exactly what you are doing. The mountain has two intermediate runs while the rest is expert or harder. The only time the patrol ever "work" is opening/closing runs, and taking care of people that get cliffed out/ plucking the drunks/fatalities off the mountain since most people don't think this type of skiing exists in Michigan. It is truly a skiers/snowboarders mountain and is even more ghetto than Arapahoe Basin.

just forget anything you've heard and come and see it for yourself (if you haven't). it's definitely a place like no other. just make sure to get there after a good snow, weekdays are better cause not nearly as busy as sat/sun, backcountry closes at dark either way. definitely ripley at night, bohemia's front runs stay open but definitely aren't worth it unless you have nice fresh pow. finlandia university usually has a rail or two set up to slide. drive behind tech and do up the J-Rail, you can't miss it. good luck.
