So im gona be taking a trip to baker end of febuary this year. Ill be skiing the 24th through the 26th. (ill be stuck in seattle the rest of the time). Anyways i need to know, best places to ski (hidden spots sweet lines) me and a freind (were both 14) are very expeirienced skiers, no park rats, i skied a ton in tahoe so i know relativley what its like in the west. so basically 3 days of skiing, where to go whats best, and maybe if someone wants to ski with me my freind and the 20 year old dude whos bringing us.

These runs are so sick -

Home Run

7 Hills

Big Creek

Espresso

Mitzi's

Yeah...just watch your trail map and dont duck any ropes. They say its ok to duck ropes, but its the most stupid thing you could do if you dont know the mountain. Dont die either.

"i skied a ton in tahoe so i know relativley what its like in the west."

haha.....yeah......this is the pacific northwest, the powder here is a tad different.....but, um, baker backcountry. well, you cant miss it, thats for sure, a lot of cool spots are visible from the chairs and stuff. Just dont go alone, it can go from "yay fun powder turns!" to "dammit i have to hike out of the icy gully or else i'll fall off some ice falls and stuff".....just dont duck ropes and you should be ok

i said relativley what its like, meaning its bigger, steeper, way more gnar than the northeast, all my skiing at tahoe was spring anyway so no powder

ha well theres no doubt the mountains over here (with the exception of snoqualmie, excluding alpental) are bigger, steeper, and gnarlier than the hills in the northeast.

Youll probably want to stay off the really gnarly stuff. Probably try North Face, Austin and even its a blue it usually isnt groomed. Since we've got like 10 feet of snow in the last 5 days, stay away from all the tree wells too.

I might just ski with him on the last day he's here....take him down hairy (not so) scary and watch him fall down the gully.

seriously... I cant even figure out the names to the god damn chairs

"we'll just go to that lift that takes you way over there... and then just go to the left.."

the chairs are numbered

But back in the day....

Chair 1 - Panorama Dome Chair

Chair 2 - Heather Chair

Chair 3 - Up and Up Chair

Chair 4/5 - Shucksan Arm Chairs

Chair 6 - Stickey Wicket Chair

dude, i love the names of their runs, my old chemistry teacher said stuff like canucks deluxe, and i'm certain he said sticky wicket.

make sure you do you avalanche homework before you head off at baker.

and as for telling you where the good spots are and the hidden areas thats not gonna happen unless you ride with a local or something it takes time and effort to learn that mountain

Its the order in which they were built. Oh yeah, theres chair 4.5 because there used to be two double chairs that (4 and 5) that ran up shuksan.
