nick is driving over from idaho to visit so saturday is going to be the day for our hiking adventure, and with gas as is and me still being in the middle of a move sunday is out of the question sry

not really they had a tentaive date but not until this morning did they say for sure it will open

by my count we have 3 baker opening threads, 3 crystal opening threads and 2 stevens opening threads

also i live in bham the way the weather been for sure on tusday or wed. its been talked about around school all week. old news. lol

when snoqualmie plans on opening. notice that all the others set dates.. I will start a snoq thread for you when they set a date...

i really wanna go hike baker this weekend, possibly build a big booter and do some filming......but im guessing avalanche danger is VERY high right now

too bad any spot youd probably hike to build a booter (booterville/grandma's cabin) isnt in any sort of danger zone!

Mt. Baker now has 60" at the base and over 75" on top giving it the highest snowbase of any ski area in the world right now.

hey kunz, no need to hate like that....if we were filming, we would hike to some places which right now would prbly be avalanche prone....so we are not hiking there as of now, later in the season though

since there is no icy rain layer under all this pow, the avalance danger is relativly consolidated. The main worry is a ground slide where the snow slides from the ground. this happens where there isn't much shrubbery on the gorund
