Msu playa's...whos gettin passes to where?

i dont know. last year they had the borders days, where you could come pick it up there. call maybe?
 
It worked fine for me last year. All I did was pay online for a student pass and then when I went up there they took my pic. Didnt even ask to see my school ID
 
Last year I think I was able to purchase online, but I had to have a printout of my schedule in order to get my pass; this was really inconvenient because I didn't know this until I went to get my picture taken.
 
it may just be me but it seems like theres way more chicks on campus this year than last year. all in all not bad. always parties, i mean its a college town. as for girls at said parties, you just have to know where to go. frequently its like 5 to 1 dudes to chicks, but its not nearly as bad as people make it out to be.
 
Honestly man, I thinnk thats pretty weak if thats a significant factor of why you quit park skiing. Last year was my first winter at big sky and my first winter park skiing. I wasnt good and got some cheap shots from people on the lift once in a while when i would fall but the park skiers pretty much just keep to themselves and hang with their clicks. I would never let other people being d-bags however, stop me from skiing.
 
who are you? lol. like what were you wearing on the mtn last year. i had to see you at some point.
 
I never quit skiing, I just starting doing something else. Something about watching high school kids in XXL pants and G-bags trying to talk in ebonics just wasn't appealing to me, so I decided I would rather jump off cliffs and ski backcountry. This was 5-6 years ago so maybe things have changed since then, but I made the choice to put myself in an environment where everyone was just stoked to be out skiing. This "issue" has already been debated to no end on this site, so I will spare you from going further on this train of thought. Judge me if you want; I just found something I enjoyed more and chose to pursue that instead.
 
Yeah man i saw you at the sky alot. I usually wore a black or orange oakley coat, black helmet, gray or blue pants. Last year i mostly skied on OG thrusters, skogen pros, and mo ships. Got some stls right at the end of the season. I didn't exactly have tall t steeze last year
 
pretty much got hooked up... my old man is gonna be an employee at big sky, which means i'll get a free pass there, and a moonlight pass will only be $15 for 3.0 or higher at the highschool.

i'm now deciding whether to get a frequent to big mtn or bridger... probably to bridger since it's super easy to borrow passes whenever i go back to the fish.

there's snow in the forecast, so as soon it accumulates enough we should get a crew together for a preseason kicker sesh.
 
Bridger all the way. BIg sky is a joke if your a good skier. Its so flat everywhere and the tram is always shit. Bridger will blow your mind on a powder day if you know what your doing and not afraid to push yourself. And if you want park your in the wrong state. Big skys park is complete shit. Jumps are to small,and to few

yes i definitely agree with you that bridger is amazing on a pow day.. but you also have to take in mind that big sky pow days are pretty damn sick too and they don't get skied out in a couple hours like at bridger..
 
and thats like ten days of the year when there are killer powder days and it gets skied out within the first hour or two... even the ridge goes fast. Im not dissing on bridger cause i love it there too. but shit when there hasnt been snow in a couple weeks, it gets old and it takes a min to get down and then you get to ride the long ass chair lifts. & as far as the park goes @ BS.. some park is better then none(even if it does suck) and its nice to change things up.
 
Agreed. I only skied at Bridger once and that was when it hadn't snowed in a week or two in the middle of January and it was super fun and all but the chairlift ride was just insanely long and seemed like it took forever. I dunno I just had way more sky at Big Sky the next day under the same conditions.
 
Definitely getting a moonlight pass, and working on saving for a big sky one. I have put in 100+ days at big sky the past two seasons and i absolutely love that place. However, i was an employee, otherwise i could not have afforded it. Swifty park will always be fun as hell, no matter the weather/snow conditions. and the park crew will do their best to keep everyone entertained, they're all legit. i wish i could throw down on a big sky one right now, but since i heard moonlight will be having better jumps this year, i'm buying a pass there for sure.

stoked it snowed today... can't wait for it to start accumulating in the mountains.

YOu talk to any "good" skier and they will say they ride the ridge and slushmans. There is more shit there than you can even ski in a year. Everything ranging from gnar ass straightlines to multiple 60 foot drops. All big sky has is a couple of shity jumps and rails and super tight flat tree skiing. For real your in montana so you should take advantage of it and push yourself.

I think I would of had more fun at Bridger if it wasn't my first time skiing out west. I have never skied "gnar ass straightlines" or even considered dropping a 60ft cliff. I would rather ski a bigger place that may not have as much gnar shit but still semi-gnar things that I can become accostomed(sp) to skiing real snow and actually skiing chutes and what not.

But I will hopefully make it up to Bridger on a pow day or two since their lift tickets aren't that expensive.
 
please stop, saying that any "good" skier rides at bridger and implying that there are no "good" skiers that ski big sky is just silly, we don't need that. Yes there are many features that are sick on bridgers ridge but almost everything below it is well, not the greatest, and the lift lines on pow days at slushmans were straight up redic. Both mountains have pros and cons that have been discussed in this regional plenty. Making an argument that either mountain has little to offer is dump.
 
So i'm looking at being an incoming MSU freshman fall 2011, so still got 2 more winters in wonderful old Minnesota, but how are the driving times to everywhere from MSU? I know Bridger is only like 15 miles north and Big Sky is like 45 south.. Just trying to get a feel for how easy its gonna be to ski on weekdays and such. Also trying to make sure that MSU is the right place, cuz i am a park skier being from MN, but i'm sure i could keep myself entertained out there seeing that my home 'mountain' only has 360 foot vert and at best like 20 inches of fresh TOTAL over the course of a year, and the park has maybe 10 jibs and 1 little 20 foot icy kicker. Any suggestions are AWESOME, and i'll probably be out to tour the campus and ski Bridger for a few days in January.. Cant Wait!!
