Thought this would get more views here than in regionals.

Who will be attending MSU this upcoming year? I'll be heading out there from the east coast and I'm pumped. Wondering what other NS'ers will be out there next fall.

I know there is other threads but i haven't seen any for this year.

I almost was...

I needed 64.5% on my first year to get to spend third year in America (I would've gone to MSU, the universities are partners), and I got 64.2%.

So pissed at that.

current freshman beyond ready to dip the fuck out of MSU, would not recommend if you enjoy skiing park

you have the raddest mountains/terrain and your upset because you don't get to ski park? Or is their something else you dislike about the school?

Is the park Breck or A51 status? No.

Is the park still fun? Hell yeah

Does Breck or Key or Vail compare to the tech terrain that Big Sky has? No.

MSU is sick and you'll fall in love with Bozeman.

its a combination of a school I really don't like attending, job opportunities I'm interested in that only exist in places significantly more populated than Bozeman, and the bunk parks at Moonlight/Big Sky. I enjoy skiing park a lot and want to shred it as much as possible before I'm too old for it, you can shred pow at any age

I know I'm a minority when I'm surrounded by kids hiking Bridger everyday, but I know I'm not alone. Really wish I listened to a former MSU freshmans advice who was in the same boat as I'm in. All I'm doing is warning kids with similar interests as me, if you like to ski nothing but pow, ignore me because Bozeman is amazing for that. If you mainly shred park, go somewhere better if you don't want to be disappointed.

I didn't mention anything about Colorado...although a51 is amazing. Sure the top of Lone Peak is sweet if you like waiting in longass tram lines every lap. Personally I enjoy hot lapping park so why would I pay expensive tuition and settle for mediocre Swifty when I could shred Utah for a fraction of the cost. The Wasatch have Brighton + PCMR and plenty of fun terrain for the occasional pow day

Ill be there as a freshman next fall. Soooooooooo stoked! Still debating big sky vs bridger....one day to decide b4 prices go up

Where have you skied previously? do you like big mountain or park better? how big a budget you have? do you have time to drive all the way to big sky compared to the short drive to bridger?

Haha, my home resort is a 300ft vertical ski hill. I've been to Keystone a couple times however. Really like park, because that's the only thing to do here in MO.

I decided to go with Big Sky. I figured that since it's my freshman year, I'll hopefully have ample free time. Also, I'm taking a car. I was 3 days away from qualifying for the Bridger junior pass, otherwise I would've snagged one of those. Pumped for big sky though! Still can't wrap my head around nine terrain parks...and 250 runs......my hill has less than 10 runs haha.

"Nine"

Freshman for a film major, housed in Roskie as well. I'm driving out from PA so I'll have a car with me.

Probably skiing at Big Sky, so stoked to be living out west finally.

Freshman studying mechanical engineering most likely. Stoked to be leaving the midwest, sadly my current car is shit and I will not have a car on campus unless my summer job can fork me enough to buy a "new" one. Probably skiing Bridger since I won't have a car.

I'll be a freshman in the film program this year. I'll have a car and will probably be getting a pass at Bridger.

How many pairs of skis you guys thinking of bringing? Is anyone going to loft their bed?

For the love of everything good in this world, LOFT YOUR BED. You'll have more room, and can even hang your skis under it. I made the mistake of not lofting mine.

yeah im trying to decide whether to fully loft it or just do like a half way so i can put stuff under, definitely raising it somehow either way

Roskie is one of the dopest dorm experiences available anywhere. Be social, make friends with your podmates and floor, and you will have a fucking blast.

I didn't loft mine and loved it. Mostly because I was able to collapse drunk in it without climbing up anything, and I didn't bring a whole lot of shit. I was able to fit two boards/binders and all my snowboard and backpacking shit under my bed without raising it at all.

thought i should post up in here. I'm not a freshman officially because I'm taking a gap year to gain residency first but that aside I'd love to chill with anyone and everyone! I love skiing and hiking and all that good outdoors stuff but also love a good party so hmu if you find some good ones

I'm heading back to MSU this fall to finish my writing degree and start one in Fish and Wildlife Management, so I'll be one of the oldest pseudo-freshmen on campus.

I will not be getting a pass anywhere (I haven't for a few years now, but I used to ski Bridger), but I will be touring a couple days a week.

lol I'm in there and it sucks. Elevators never fucking work. that's some 7 flights of bullshit

I lived on the fourth floor last year, so I never used the elevator because they sucked.

I think I've seen you around! You were the one who liked Maude Raymond right?

Sophomore, physics student

Looking to share rides up to BS from bozangeles this season, would be rad if there was a solid crew for the season.

Just a reminder that Bridger passes go up in price on the 15th

Sophomore here, im only a part time student (going for residency, cheaper tuition). To all the kids in roskie this year, have fun thats the best dorm to live in id say.

Just registered for classes for Spring. Probably not gonna be able to ski during the week, which sucks. But I will be going down every Saturday and Sunday.

Would love for one or two more people to travel with as it only costs me $15 to drive down and if I find one more then we will have 4 to drive down with and it will be cheaper than the bus and a hell of a lot better than it. Just shoot me a PM or quote and reply in the thread.

Also, looked like it snowed today!

My schedule is going be to tough next term but if i can get the classes i want i should be able to ski Tuesday and Thursday after 8:50 which would be pretty sweet.

Bringing my car out after Christmas! Super stoked

bump for snow

my schedule is on lock for next semester, I can ski until noon MWF, and have until three on Tuesday and Thursday

it might be too early to think about but it would cool to have a NS day at Bridger or Big Sky or both. skiing is a gang

Ok so you mean you're failing next semester?

Lol good luck getting maybe 3 ridge runs in before 11 and then racing down to class and showing up to lecture in your ski gear if you have class at noon... Or do you have class at 1 or something and you're saying u can actually ski till 12?
