MSP NEW TRAILOR

if i had watched that trailer, and if it was different than the past two movies, i would have exploded... but the trailer looks nice (as did its predecessors) so thats a scary thing...

i bet the movie will be just as boring/uncreative/same ol same ol/dull/high budget feature as yearbook and hitlist. albeit there were a few good segements in each of those movies, but overall, the movies were just too dull.

so not impressed!

I have to say i really do like the skiing in msp's movies, but fucking stop making every single fucking shot in slow mo!!

FUCK YOU SLOWMO, SUNSET SHOTS!!!

it's cool to see everyone on new skis. It's also sweet to see the exact science influence on the pipe shots in the beginning. And the foreground foliage is really progressive. It's very impressive for how low their budget it.

the opening bit looked like it might be a bit different, but the rest of it looked like the same ol MSP, except pollard, he's just messing around there and blows me away, the future is NOW! i probably see this, though i probably won't buy it.

that surprised me a little bit, actually looks decent. still lots of big mt. but looked better than some of their recent flops.

So I am hearing people like it and people dislike it...I just want to hear why? Please justify your opinion because it isn't just, ITS SICK, or IT SUCKS.

Here is why I dislike it:

Basically, it is the same as the last 2 movies, epic whistler jump, already done, sweet, it was sick the first time, let's move onto something else. So apparently they are trying to be a bit artsier with some of their shots like the foreground foliage in the beginning, that was probably the only new thing in this whole teaser that MSP hasn't done before, well at least from what I remember. Now lets think of some other things, umm ok, so the first thing I see is dumont (i think) drop into the pipe, and I swear I have seen that exact shot before, well I have...the same shot occurs in the movie Exact Science (as someone said previously). But really, you can't copyright an angle, so that doesn't really matter. But now I'm thinking, WHAT in this teaser, makes me want to buy this movie, over the other movies that MSP has previously made...and I just can't even come up with a reason. This is what I really don't get about MSP, how does everyone get so stoked on the same movie every year? You'd expect such a high budget film company to at least have some sort of a...storyline? That doesn't just try and OOOOOH and AHHHH everyone. And don't even say you will buy this movie because the skiing got better because, well, that's just what happens, progression happens in the skiing every year, so why can't it in the movie making? That's just my rant, I hope everyone can go off like this so I can read other peoples opinions.

powder doesn't bore me, I love it. Its just that where I ski, the ski patrollers close off everything because they are paranoid and are gay like that. Ak definatly has the best BC skiing and I wish I could go build jumps back there but I can't cause I don't have a snow machine.

that was dope. Too slow but the shots were amazing. I liked the shots with 2 skiers at the same time, it gave it more reality. Good music, the whistler booter was sick but done before, and mike d stomped the shit out of air jordan. Looks promising to me.

skins? whatever this converstaion sucks, i'm just jittery because theres no snow...

two things...

-that 3 over the spine was fuckign awesome

-what the fuck did wilson throw?...looked like a lincoln to a cork 3?!?!??!

who is the shirtless guy with the earflap beanie and oakley goggles after the shot of hugo harrison being put into the ambulance?

poaching, my friend, is a sport in itself. but do make sure you know your avalanche conditions.

poaching was my solution to the first part of your problem. As to getting up the hill faster: rocket pack?

bah. I'll just ski backcountry when Vital comes up and takes me heli skiing so we can start filming.

well at least they've gotten away from the heavy metal music trailers and there was some damn progressive shit in there, pollard buttering off a cornice!!!!???? and dissapointing to see the same old helicopter shots, but it looked like they over-exposed the film a couple times there shooting into the sun, i don't know if it was intentional or not, but i expect super professional stuff from MSP, and that didn't look professional, everything else was legit though, i'll be interested to see how the movie turns out.

i thought it was mad...and i am giving props for the use of wolfmother- big band in oz right now and theyre pretty damn good except for the fact half their music is ripped from the likes of zeppelin

I want to think that this level of excitment everyone is showing responds to the lack of teaser-watchin we have going on these days... This teaser pretty much sucked, I was waiting for it to end cause it was boring... while in te photoplay teaser it ends and u keep staring at a black quicktime window for like a minute thinkin how good was that that u just saw...

looks soo sick, cam on the road gap was ill, pollards move was dope, and mike is just crazy. cant believe dumont and sammy are filmin with msp this year

I love their cinematography, slow mo to the extreme shots are sweet, with the right trick. i loved dumont's slowed down truck, the switch double back landed like it was nothing.

I like a certain amount of big mountain riding, i liked what abma and pollard do.

The editing, like Matty said, is not the best, it' almost lulls you to sleep, and the music is definiotely not the best: i felt as if i was watching focused, same vibe, same shots into the setting sun, same everything.

The shots are sweet. But we need originality. And the voice overs at the end just killed it.

My reason is Pollard period. And the ease of accesibility of the movie at the shop I work at. I would never order this offline, only pick it up for 10 bucks at the shop.

And that's why they make different movies, for people who like different things and what they like to watch on skis. MSP obvisouly has a different mind set to things, you don't like it, we don't care. Go watch some jib movie because that is what you like.

i love hjorleifson to death and he is rediculous. but what the hell is the point of having whistler build a huge fucking booter, paying a helicopter a couple hundred a minute to film, having such fancy pants cameras just to film a straight up seven with a tail grab half way through. if we want to watch 5 year old tricks that are somewhat pleasing because of the filming we will watch warren miller.

the best thing about that trailer was the BC cork 7 or whatever simon did with the saftey. im so fucking happy that wasnt turned into a truck driver

I can't agree with you more, everytime i see an MSP movie the only word that comes to mind when i hear the music is "redneck"
