i think that happened to me a little while ago... try reseting your computer

i have an american dream but it involves black masks and gasoline

yeah, ive rebooted my comp a couple times and have reinstalled it a couple times, i tryed installing an older version and i would log on for a split second and then get booted back off, and get the same message. and other ideas

try completely removing it from your system, even the boot registry. then install the version that is actually msn messenger, from the msn website, and not windows messenger, which comes on your windows based system. this version not only will probably fix your problem but it also newer and has some better features. message me if you have problems doing anything. hope that i helped.

or alternitively, go to msn's help site. someone directs you through how to fix it. i had that problem at one point too.

No, i bet that you have some sort of Firewall blocking it, because that is what mine was saying for a long time too, until i deleted norton.

i just kept uninstalling it and reinstalling it and restarting my comp until it worked.

how do i uninstall from the boot registry, i went into add/remove programs and removed it and reinstalled it straight from the msn website everytime i tried reinsalling it, still the same problem

instead of just removing the program, on that same window in control panel there is a tab that says add/remove windows components and you uncheck windows messager and it it should do it automatically. then go download msn messager. it is different and better than windows messager.
