MS DOS problem

im having trouble with my ms dos.. i was told it was supposed to say C:\> where mine says C:\documentsandsettings/owner> . why is this and is this wrong?
 
different version? it should be the same, maybe the one using the > is a 98 version, while the one you see is xp?
 
i think its just different, not wrong. but yea, dont count on that because i dont know much about dos
 
nothing is wrong, just that the command prompt in xp is just a virtual console so it brings you to that.

Wow i feel old...and surprissed i still remember dos commands haha
