Ok so the guy toook a break from skiing after winning a OLYMPIC FUCKING MEDAL (let me know when you do that) and decided to make a little money and take a few years off. He was prolly burnt out on skiing after training everyday for years on end. Crack all the realworld jokes you want he still could still smoke any of you park rats down the mountain anyday.

To come back form partying to world cup moguls and have all that pressure of qualifying on yopur back and to go out and win a world cup right before the olympics and then get 4th doing a cork 7 is soso sick he changes skiing for ever, the only reason moguls is still alive is becasue of him, the fis now allow all inverts in mogul comps they were banned for over 25 years and becasue of moesley that all changed, he may be a sell out, he may have goen hollywood but wouldnt you after proving everything there is to prove in skiing, shit id cash in for millions of dollars and models all the time. The definition of selling out is doign something you always said you wouldn't, and by my thoughts johnys just enjoying his life, hes proved him self coutless times. J Moselle throws it down, he's a pretty well diversified skier, ever see the pictures of him bombing big mtn? He did a lot for our sport, helped keep skiing cool when snowboarding was taking over. I was fortunate enough to meet him this summer, he was looking for a slalom course to ski.

OK. I can understand why many feel JoMo sold out for the cash. Really who can blame him. Fuck I can't. But after hearing him do the color commentary for the 'Jeep King of the Swill' I could tell it was killing him.

And frankly the road rules gig I feel he is doing to get paid and laid. Who can fault the guy for that.

And if you think he isn't an athlete. Well he kicked pretty much everybodys ass at the Superstars comp two years in a row.

And yes under todays scoring he would have won the Gold in SLC. But what is more important is that what he did made it so the scoring was changed and the sport evolved.

mosely got a good in nagano, and bronze in 2002. the guy really helped skiing to where it is today. how can you knock him?

to who ever said he would of won gold by today's standards it doesn't matter. he wasn't skiing in an event today. if he wanted to win gold which i don't think he could of done he would have done a run which was of the standards of the time. not to say that i don't agree with pushing the sport

 
Nice. There's some respect for the man. Just to clarify, Moseley was like the youngest guy on the US team when he made it. Not only did he win world cup mogul events, but he was throwing triple inverts and became world cup champion combined. He won the breck world cup right before the olympics testing his signature heli mute. Then he won the gold. Did two back mutes in the streets of NY on Letterman. Took a break and came back miraculously to win the world cup right before the 2002 olympics (his only way to make it in after his break) submitted to ussa's trick qualification process to show the world the corked 7 (what a major pain in the ass). He named it the dinner roll to assist in hype, a successful technique for him, especially after the heli mute gold. Alright, he's proven himself okay?

Now Moseley is 29. Do you groms think its alright if he takes a break now? He's not fuckin' selling out! Moseley IS a skier. Look, on MTV he wears a shirt that says 'ski' on the front. He loves skiing. Man, to think that he could come on this site to check it out and find shit talking..... :(

Mosely is the man. For anyone who has seen his segments in omething about Mconkey, he friggin rips all mountain as well as park. Anybody who talks shot about Mosely does not recognize how much he did for our sport.

 
put yourself in Moseley's shoes, you've won an olympic gold, you'd have two if you throw an extra twist or spread into your final run in 2002. Now you do a couple of tv shows a year, at most taking a month (during the summer) to film. You've got the cash and the girls, and now you get to ski all winter without training or doing comps, just going out and enjoying the mountain. That sounds pretty good to me.

I'm not sure you can call him a sell out for finding a job outside of skiing to support him, allowing him to ski all winter. I'd say comp skiers are more of sellouts, sure they ski, but they have to train and compete, and do photo shoots and stuff, all the while they could be freeskiing, which is where the soul of skiing is.

Either way being a pro skier would rule, so...

 
last time I saw moseley in a competition (big air at the sprint bumps and jumps a year ago) He threw a straight air spread eagle. Fuck moseley that guy is a total dick.

okay, but Moseley did it in the world cup at breck two weeks earlier, winning that event. Then at the olympics, his was faster, larger and cleaner. Plus he won the gold. Julien Regnier is sick, but Mosely ripped him and everyone else a new one.

Fuck that, Moseley's sick, regardless of whether or not he worked for MTV. I think it's awesome that he's coming back, and I can't wait to see him in the movie.
