Yo matt, is there any way to seperate the messaging thing from the online window. Like make it so the ns messaging pops up in a window and you can talk back n fro in real time? This way you wouldnt have to wait for the page to refresh and it would pop up instantly. I figure this would be hard to make, but it would rule. the end.

-Pull out the nine, pop in the clip (poW) let one slip, into these crazy fools.
 
Well, what LineSkiEastCoast suggested is that when you get a message, the name snows on the left, but then when you click on it, it opens a little 'chat' style window (such as AIM) and you can talk in real time. So it's on the first message that shows up in the online window.

I'm not sure if I could make it 100% real time without using Java, but I could try...

Yah dude waiting for the window to refresh is annoying.......if you could figure that out it would be sick. What is wrong with having to use Java anyways?

Java means that not everyone could use it.

What I'm thinking of doing to please the most people possible is when you send a message, you have an option of sending it 'regular style' (this way), or 'chat style' (like AIM).. if the person is offline however, it would send 'regular style' automatically.

So you send a message, and if you choose the chat style, when the person clicks to answer your message, the window that then opens has a real-time chat thing in it, then if that window is closed by either person, the message is sent to them in the regular style.

hmmmmm... could get complicated, but it might be better.

it would be cool to make it so when you log in a window automatically pops up with the chat, and everyone is in it automatically when they log in and can talk in real time, and then they can always close that window, and just have a link to reopen it, but keep the private messages also so people can do that aswell

you can always just right click in the online window, and choose 'refresh'.. but that can be a bit annoying to do all the time...

 
yeah it is kinda a pain sometimes but I just click refresh or flick to invisible and then back to visible and it refreshes for me. it's all good

Why don't more people just use that chat program under the 'interact' heading? I've used it a few times and chatted with people...but rarely is anyone on it.
