MPEG Streamclip for FCE

Having a few problems with fce and my gopro
First off a bit of information:I use a gopro shooting 720p, 60fps and edit using final cut express.
When i convert my gopro clips using streamclip, i convert them to Apple Intermediate Codec, as i cant use Apple ProRes cause i only have fce not fcp. This creates one problem as when i import to fce, it drops half the frames to convert it to 29.97fps so when i slowmo, its crap and all morphy.Any idea how i fix this?I read Abe's gopro workflow guide and it sounds like i really need to get the ProRes codec to fix this, is it possible for FCE?

Also while im here.....anyone know of a twixtor plugin for fce?

Any help is appreciated.

its a type of codec. if FCE supports XDCAM, it could potentially fix your issue. I know many peoplpe that use XDCAM over apple pro res due to their editing setup. and they all say its a good substitute.

you need to encode so that it works better in FCE, and you need to slow it down to be able to get slow mo (otherwise final cut drops frames). The 200% is exactly what you would have to do if you used another program to slow it down, JES lets you do everything in one conversion, slow it down and convert it, which would take longer with 2 separate programs

btw you only need to do the first part, down to where it says "the other way - quicktime 7 pro"

the first is the one i use and it works great

OHhhh, i didnt quite understand before. That makes sense.

does it just slow it down, or does it have a selection of different frame rates that can conform it too.

awesome, that sounds exactly waht i need, cause i know Abe has to use Apple cinepak after converting it, so your way sounds like it will be a bit more productive.
+K for you two

you set the framerate and speed if you follow the tutorial

also, quality looks decent this way, but i heard if you play with the settings you can get amazing quality. I'll post if I find any that seem to work
