mp3s arent better. but they are definately cheaper. my sister has an mp3, I bought an md and my md can carry over 300 minutes of music and he 128meg mp3 doesnt even get half of that. i bought the sony s2 sports MD it was a little hard on the bank account but thats why i have a job.
128 mb gets about that much mp3 is way cheaper and easyer too. recording md's sucks takes way too long.

yeah MD's are way sicker and like the only good mp3 player is the ipod, but mds are still sicker so get an md and you will be happy

MD- 3-4hrs of songs on one disc, discs cost $2-3ea, netmd (sony) is fast (drag and drop), compact, wont skip. My sony mzn-505 cost $130.
MP3- flash cards cost a ton more, cant have multiple mixes without spending a ton, compact, wont skip. Mp3 cost for player ???
As you can tell, I like the MD player, sweet deal.

bah. mp3 cds are where it's at. I've bailed on mine tonnes of times. they're great for the car, you can play regular cds in it too. never skips, you can use re-writeable cds, holds 700minutes of music on 1 cd, you can add songs on the fly and insert them anywhere on the cd. you can set up folders with album titles that can be diplayed, it can display id3 tags of the individual songs, or show the file name of the song, oh and they don't record in real time like md players - I can rip around 700 minutes/700MBs of music in about 3 minutes.
all of that for under 200 canadian. They make MD players look like the tyco hand held voice recorders that people went crazy over after home alone - you know what I'm walking about willis.

iPods are amazing but very expensive. I would getone if I could afford it, so for now I just use my cd player.

i love my md player, it is the most durable alecctronic i own, i was jumping on the trampoline and it was in my pocket and it flew out bounced on the trampoline and flew on the ground, that would be about equivalent to dropping it on the ground form 10 feet, and it was just a normal one, that says alot! iwas sure it would be wrecked, but it was fine and didnt even skip songs.

Trust me on this one. I've spent countless hours investigating the pros and cons between mp3 players and md players.
And i've had both and many different types of each, so I speak from experience.
A md player is better than an mp3 player that only holds 128 mb or less.
You can fit a number of songs on a minidisc, md is about same price, md is just as light (there are a few brands of mp3 players that are extremely light and small, but they still carry little memory)
BUT a high storage mp3 player takes the cake.
IPOD would be nice but I don't do mac, and it does cost like a bitch.
SO get another high storage mp3 player
ARCHOS JUKEBOX (archos.com) have mp3 players that store 6gb-50gb which is alot of songs.
It sells from $150 on up, depending how much space you want. $150 for 6 gigs of songs (which is around 100 cd's worth)
to put it in perspective: for the 6 gig (which is one of their smallest sizes) if you play all your songs nonstop back to back without hearing the same song twice, it would play for around 5 days straight. At cd quality.
It's built solid, and has padding to soften impacts.
No MOVING PARTS.
NO SKIP.
NO NEED TO INSERT A NEW DISK.ALL YOUR SONGS ON IT
IT DOUBLES AS A PORTABLE HARD DRIVE.
MAKE PLAYLISTS.

i have a panasonic sd80 mp3 and it is about the size of a matchbox, and I can put whatever sive card I want in it. It works great, it has a nice big display and the rechargeable battery lasts all day long.

ok kids listen up.. especially all you with ur cute little MD players...
I own an Ipod. I also own a PC. Yes a Mac Ipod will run on a PC. All you need is alittle software so no big deal.
Now, my Ipod is about the size of a deck of cards. Ive got 10G of space. Right now i have 1,600 MP3s on it. Thats weeks of playing time without stop. I have a built in battery that has 10 hours on it.. every night i plug my ipod in. And I use it every single freakin day because music is life. Oh and lets not forget i also use my ipod for other things like, keeping a contact list, keeping a calender, slapping anyting i want on it just like a HD.. like that movie you wanna show ur friend thats a gig and you cant burn it onto a CD.
Lets see now.. more reasons why my ipod kicks your MD's pansy ass... oh yeah, instead of burning music, i transfer it onto the hard disk. At 10 seconds an album. I dont need to buy any disks, i dont need to sit and wait for my disc to be finished so i can listen to it, and i dont need to carry around 80 CDs everywhere i go.
Now since i have so much music on such a little electronic.. that actually looks good i might add.. how do i listen to it all without scrolling through hundreds of artists all day?
Playlists my friend.. let me give you an example of MY playlists currently...
Classics > Stuff that i never get tired of hearing
Def Jams > All the freshest rap and R & B i have.
Fresh Spins > The lastest music i DL'd last night.
And the rest are actual albums that i have as playlists... kinda like dumping them into a CD changer.
I have zero complaints about my ipod. It KILLS everything else. If you cant cough up 300$ for one then theres soemthing wrong with you. get a job.
