Get the Rio Karma man, and go to the Office Depot Website, and type in 'Rio Karma' for the search and you should get it for around 250-280, which is the cheapest price you'll find. It's 20 gigs, and is awesome

Creative Zen NX Xtra or iRiver iHP-120, no question. Forget about the iPod until the new one comes out with the replaceable battery.

yeah save up a little more and get an ipod

no, dont get an ipod until they have the replaceable battery (unless you plan on buying another within a year or two). i have a creative zen jukebox, works great. i recomend it for sure.

i got an I-river 390T... it works fine for me and is fairly inexpensive i think.. im not sure exactly on how much it costs cuz santa got it for me

AP) -- Women who perform the act of fellatio and swallow semen on a regular basis, one to two times a week, may reduce their risk of breast cancer by up to 40 percent, a North Carolina State University study found.

I have an archos jukebox and I could never complain about it. Look into em. I can store videos and other media in it as well. Its cool for a ton of little tricks you could never find in one of those damn ipods.

fuck that! Ipod is way, way overpriced! get a 60gb Creative Zen! or mabey 40gb if the 60gb one is too expensive

get a minidisc.. they are way better.. battery life is about 20times better than any mp3 player.. and listen to this.. i was skiing and forgot to zip up my minidisc pocket and it fell out onto the snow and was there for about 5min til i relized and ran back up and got it.. it still works fine

I'd agree with the guy who said something abour the iRiver jukebox. It's pretty cheap and they're really good. And yeah, don't get the ipod.

Emo kids don't cry because they're sad all the time, they cry because they have to listen to that horrible music all the time. I'd cry if i had to listen to that over and over and over....wouldn't you?

i had the zen, it broke twice, its good, but it kinda breaks easily so make sure you buy locally

Well, a copy of the receipt for my broken Creative Nomad JB3 finally came through, after a month of phone calls. I toke it back to the store I got it from today and swapped it for a 40Gb Creative Nomad Zen Xtra and paid the difference of £30 - not bad at all, a lot better result than I was hoping for. So I've been playing around with the unit for a few hours and overall I'm pretty pleased. The size is a bit bigger than an iPod or iRiver iHP but it's no big deal to me at all because it will always go in my back pocket, and the weight is nice and light. The user interface is nice and eay - nothign fancy. Great product overall. I only have two problems with it - it won't work with my USB2 card for some reason (not a huge deal again - I'll mostly be putting one or two albums on at a time anyway), and the face plate that allows access to the battery is badly designed: the switch is very eaily pressed accidentally, and if you place the unit down hard the plate comes open. This was solved be duct tape and stickers, as with so much of my gear :P. One other strange feature is that there is no stop button - not really a problem, but it's very weird not having one.

If you have unlimited cash, I'd say it's still a tough call between the iRiver, iPod and Xtra, but if you're on a budget I'd highly reccomend the Xtra.

So, I'm pleased overall - I'll post back in a few weeks once I've had more experience with it.

ive had my iriver hp 120 since christmas and im really happy with it.. the battery lasts forever and the file transfer system is really easy to use. it feels really durable, but i keep it in the little case that it came with. i got mine for 350.

most people hear will tell you to get an IPOD. I have a Creative Nomad jukebox zen. Its the first Zen that ever came out. Its 20 giggs. I like it, but if I had it to do over, I would have probably gotten a mini disk player. Do some research; but when I got my zen it was the only one that could program playlists on the go. I thought I'd like having all my music on it, but with creatives program for organizing music, sifting through all of the music gets kind of time consuming. The reason I recomend a mini disk player is because there usually smaller, and a lot cheaper. You can't hold as much music, but you can carry extra mini disks. If you go for the hard drive player go for a max of like 4-5 giggs. those players are usually a lot smaller and lighter, and if you think about it, how many hours of music do you really need for one day of skiing. some people will argue about how convenient it is to have a 40-60 gigg and use it as an portable hard drive. but seriously are you getting the player to ski with or to transfer large amounts of data. if the reason you want it is for skiing, go for the smallest one you can find.

Yeah - I agree. The fact that you have to use Creative's software (or pay $25 for Notmad Explorer) is a big downfall for the Zen, but I really like the unit anyway. Get a seperate tagging program and just use Creative's software for transfer. And why would you suggest a 4Gb max?? I have about 10Gb of mp3s just now, and that's pretty conservative compared to some peopel I know. And being able to backup all your files is[/i] a huge bonus. My hard drive broke (physically) while my JB3 was broken too - if I'd had my files backed up at the time it would have saved me a whole lot of time and effort.

Dude, if i had a MD player id be lugging around a backpack full of a hundred mini discs in it. I carry all my music on my ipod (i now need a bigger ipod mines too small), because if i want to hear a song, i know i have it, and i can get it, its much faster to scroll through an ipod than to find a mini disc and pop it in. Ipods have no moving parts, are small, very thin, very light, use FIREWIRE not usb, and have the best software in the world backing them up (itunes). All other mp3 players sound like too much work to me.

the reason the mini costs alot is cuz its pink and new, i want a really durable one, cuz i dont wanna ski with it and bust when i bail, what ya think i should do?

i love to ski, so should you, its fun, try it sometime

buy the 10gb ipod, i ski with mine i've fallen once or twice on it, it's an amazing machine i've never had it skip or anything...i give it my two thumbs up, it's so fuckin' durable too you can buy like a jam jacket case for it too which helps for protection for like 10 bucks, they're so sick, it's worth the investment...so so worth it
