Moving To Vancouver

I just found out that I got a job working on the Sea to Sky for Engineering work experience. They're providing an appartment in North Vancouver for myself and the other 2 students. Obviously I'm going to spend most of my free time skiing while I can. Hopefuly I'll be able to head up to whistler every weekend. During the week, I would also like to get some night skiing in. I know Vancouver has 3 hills surrounding it. Which one is best/closest to north van? Also, how long does the drive to whistler usually take? Also if any of you want to meet up for a day or something to ski, it'd be nice to ski with a local so I'm not completely lost.

Also, since I will be skiing Whistler, I figued its time to get a pair of proper pow skis, so I'm considering the following:

188 Armada JPJs

189 K2 Seths

Line SFB

Line EP Pro

Faction 3.Zero

your opinions on what would work for whistler would be much appreciated. I am 6'1, 165, and I can ski pow, I just don't get to do it very often.

just go to can-ski they'll find the perfect ski for you bro, don't forget to get a transceiver too, they have started doing bag checks on all the alpine lifts in whistler every day.

You need a tranceiver for in-bounds skiing on whistler mtn? Why? Sorry if thats a stupid question, I'm just more used to mountains that just rope off any place that might avalanche.
