i stayed at a friends in east vail, i was suprised (in a good way) how they have free buses to and from vail, im not really sure were else is it goes, but i know the bus is free from east vail, to the mtn, and back

 
Yo you should move into timber ridge, they are the nicest apartments in town, and moe's has good bbq plus they hook up locals, and the china palace has the biggest chicken wings you'll ever eat. Vail is a fun place to be at, too bad the terrian is as flat as kansas.

timber ridge is a shithole but it's cheap.

Dont live in Vail, live in Eagle Vail or Avon. We drink a lot, so once you get here you will get to know the bars.

i sue to buy alot of drugs from timber ridge when i was a kid. that place sucks. Lancelot has the best fucking prime rib in the world it is expensive as hell but worth it. in the mud season you can get crazy deals. Buzz's is the best shop in town super chill staff.

enjoy man I moved there when i was eight loved it, wish i could still live there but life happened and i had to grow up and move to the front range...damnit..just enjoy it. and no not just millionaires live there

I just spent the last two winter there working on Cat Crew(grooming). I lived in Edwards which was 15 mins from vail and alot cheaper then living in town. try that or look in avon.

Bar's. Sandbar is fun. anything in the village. to bad they had to wreck everything in lionshead cause and wreck the Sundance that bar was always alot of fun even though it was small. Anything in the village is cool too.

 
And if you really want to you can always work for the evil corporation that is Vail Associates, then you can live in the employee housing. And yes Moe's is the place to eat, but May Palace also has a danky lunch special, and it is the best chinese food in the valley. And if you smoke Vail has the best pot in Colorado!

 
employee housing is like a dorm, it blows, but you have a lot of other people around so you get by and have some fun.

blue sky basin is intermediate terrain for pussy homo gapers...it has zero challenge and no vert...plus its an hour to the base...YEAH bro vails skick, people line up for the miday groomers and you can poch the 9 cat track wide courory laying out huge switch gs carves while scarying the drunk morons from texas...

Vail blows, horrible park, crowded 75$ lift tickets, 10 dolla burgers, NO SNOW, short season...blah bllah blah

 
Vail has over 5,000 acres of skiing. Blue Sky is great because on a powder day, everybody goes back to Blue Sky, and us real skiers go ride the other 4000 acres of skiing!

Vail sucks - well its better than skiing in new jersey -

reasons Vail sucks -

1) 75$ lift tickets - good luck getting your friends to visit

2) SHORT SEASON - early closure regardless of snowpack

3) Late opening park

4) Crazy texas gapers (mabye thats good?)

5) FLAT

6) NO OB

7) ASSHOLE "saftey" patrollers

8) Horrible business ethics - read "downhill slide" - eye opening

9) BAD BUSINESS/BAD FOR SKIING

10) Crazy costs and out of control rent/property prices (750$ a square foot)

11) Apowder day is considered a 7-nch dump

12) low snow pack

13) Unstable snowpack when it does snow

14) Crowded CRowded

15) pay parking

i can go on - i lived in CO for years, moved to tahoe, cannot even compare how much better it is in the sierra

i don't know if you guys know this but if you work for the right place you get a free 5 mountian pass. Fuck, i'm from oregon and i know this. plus anyone in there right mind would buy a season pass instead of paying 75 bucks for a ticket that is if your living there. what are passes there like 300 bucks?

I ski mostly park and mostly BC and mostly groomers so 50 % park 50% groomers and 50 % pow. what shoudl i do . I hear that the chronic minis kill it in pow,,,, what should i get ?- calskierx
