Moving to Phoenix.. advice pls

I might be starting a new job in Phoenix soon and was hoping for some advice on where to live, eat, party etc.. Job is in Scottsdale; and I'm 26 and coming from Australia, if that helps!

Arcadia to the east of Scottsdale is a popular area for young professionals who are done with school. Lots of fun bars and clubs in that area. Still plenty close to Scottsdale. Tempe can be fun if you know where to go and occasionally don't mind being surrounded by the college bar crowd.

As for skiing, snow bowl isn't bad i'm told. I just got started again and I drive to Utah or CO for long trips.
