Moving to North Italy - ski pass suggestions?

I'm moving to northern Italy for a semester in January, any ski pass suggestions I should look into in Italy, Austria or Switzerland??
 
Hi, I live in Florence and I ski a lot on the alps. may I know in which city are you gonna stay? so i can help you better

if that didn't make any sense, i'm hopefully going to Ferrara but if not i'm going to Florence.

 
anche come è Trentino? sto andando lì (or would i say andro again? haha this is hard...) per una gara di sci in dicembre con la mia universita.
 
Universiadi al Monte Bondone?! I park aprono tutti sempre verso natale o a inizio gennaio quindi se vuoi girare in park mi sa che ti conviene andare in Senales da Trento. Altri posti vicini belli sono la val di fiemme (obereggen, bellamonte, cavalese, passo rolle), madonna di campiglio o sempre dolimiti tipo Alpe di Siusi e Alta badia. Se rimani abbastanza forse ti conviene pure fare lo stagionale

No University di Colorado, siamo competendo nella World University Winter Games.

 
ye ye, "universiadi" is the italian name for world university games and they will be in Monte Bondone resort near Trento city, so I guess you're gonna stay there (in trento). So how long are you gonna stay in Italy? cause you may think about get a season pass.. and will you just skiing or will you visit italy in general?
 
I definitely want to keep skiing at least once a week or every two weeks

normally I ski 3 or more times a week in Colorado but I don't want to miss out on just traveling around in general either. I'll be there for 15 days for that competition and then actually moving there in January until May or June, so for 5 or so months.

What mountains are closest to Ferrara that are worth getting a season pass to?
 
probably the best is obereggen-val di fiemme... there're 2 nice parks and some nice slopes and backcountry, plus the season pass isn't too expensive... but Ferrara is in a sketchy place for skiing so there're tons of resorts to go to with the pretty same travel time
 
do you know of a last day to buy a season pass? In colorado its usually in october is the last time to buy a season pass. I might end up doing the florence program because it cost less but i wont know until the end of summer what scholarships i can get.
 
ah.. Florence is so beauty (well.. I'm a local!)!! :)

so.. in the dolomites usually till christmas/mid december the season pass price does not change.

Near Florence there're 2 pretty nice resorts (abetone & cimone) and one smaller (corno alle scale) in the appennines. Here the policy for the season passes it's strange: usually the price is pretty good till october but the day pass doesn't cost a lot (around 30-35 during the weekends and 20-25 the other days) and in the ferial days there're a lot of students discounts, plus Abetone (the closest) it's just 1h20m/1h30m from the center of Florence
 
both, just check the websites.. they prett much all have an english version. Well.. firs begin to decide in which city you wanna spend your time in Italy eheh :)
 
yea that would be a good plan hah. I'm kind of set on Ferrara but obviously i'd rather go to florence than not go at all. it's just easier to get to other countries for FWQ's if im more north
