title pretty much says it all im from vancouver canada looking to move to nz in may/june leave in august/september. im looking for any work possibly wokring on the mtn and would like to stay in the wanaka or queenstown area. if you have any helpful information please let me know id owe you big time when i get down there.
 
What type of job do you want? What experience do you have? What type of skiing do you want to do? QT is more touristy with more bars and more going on but I prefer Wanaka which is a bit more laid back.
 
I have my level 2 ski instructing course and was thinking of working up at the mtn taking a bit of a dent out so i could get my pass for free. and was thinking of maybe working like 2-3 days a week
 
yes but do you want to ski park or the rest of the mountain.

For Wanaka

If you want to ski a ton and not work at all get a job a TC. Not park but the best terrain. Instructors get no hours but get to ski a lot. If you work at Cardrona you will get a lot more work but mostly with gapers. They have a real good park and decent terrain but not as good as TC.

For QT

I am not as familiar with QT resorts ski schools. Remarks has decent terrain and a decent park. Coronet peak has no park and is pretty much all snow making. Kinda shit in my opinion.

There are also good options in Canterbury if you dont want to be in QT or Wanaka. They generally get more snow up there.
 
lookin to ski mostly park, ive bin reading up on cardrona and employees get free bus transportation to and from wanaka which would be nice
 
wanaka or queenstown will be your best option for places to go for jobs, with wanaka having the best parks. Not sure what the deal is though about working up the mountain
 
have you guys heard of any staff housing down there? or do most people just find a place in wanaka? ive been trying to decide where ill stay and things like that if i should be inquiring anywhere about it
 
There is no staff housing. get on housing early because the good houses go fast. Make sure its close to town because the long walk sucks.
