Moving to Montuckey

So Im looking to move up to montana for the summer and probably the winter. Its gonna be bozeman unless I can find a good enough job in big sky to warrant staying there. Anyone have any insight on the better areas to be in bozeman? How about good local sources to find an apt? Anyone want to split a place or have a room avail? Im gonna be moving up around may 1st
 
I can't think or anywhere in specific in Bozeman that sucks to live, it's really not a very big city though. Being within walking distance of downtown is nice when you wanna hit the bars. Housing is tough to come by but you might have better luck showing up right as all the college kids leave. Aspen Properties sucks, I would try to avoid them, worst landlords I've ever had, super disorganized and shitty to deal with.
 
One of my roommates is graduating at the end of the year and could possibly be moving out so I might have a room for cheap ($200/month). Stay away from Belgrade, its just not as nice as Bozeman. For the most part rent is cheaper over there, but you can find cheap places all over.

Like the guy above me said, there's not really a bad place to live in Bozo. You're within a 10 minute drive from anything in town. As for sources just craigslist it. There are places opening up all the time and since it's a college town you don't get too many creepy 35 year old dudes looking for a room with college kids.
 
I found rent to be cheaper on the north side of town. Close to downtown is nice, if you can stumble your way to your couch from the bars even better. $200 a month is good.

This. I don't know where all the people in Bozeman pissing and moaning about rent prices are from but I don't think prices are that high. I paid $340 a month for a room in a kind of shitty 2br when I lived there, which is only a little more than I would have expected to pay in Duluth, MN. Sure some places are overpriced but there's always reasonable places out there.

anyone down to split a apt/house? Im looking at a few that are in BS, and a few in Bozeman. Let me know! Would rather split a nice/new 2 or 3 bedroom place and pay less than I would with a nice 1 bedroom!

Unfortunately not...Ive been the night manager at The Hostel for the past while, so my 2 bedroom apt goes to the person taking over my job.

That said your a chick in Jackson, that'll automatically move you to the top of the roomie list!
