Moving to Maui.

Whats good y'all.

My girlfriend who was born and raised on Maui is itching to move back home, she moved to Portland for cheaper rent and higher paying jobs but just isn't happy on the mainland. We have really been considering moving back to the Island but I am much more hesitant then she is (obviously). After visiting Kula a couple times I know higher paying jobs are generally trades (plumping, mechanic, ect). But was curious if anyone lived on the Island and knew of a good gig? I am currently a bank teller working on getting my loan processor 3, and have been thinking about going back to school (work will pay for most of it) and getting an associates in either finance or accounting to try and work for the county. If there are any NS homies out in Maui lets connect! Let me know what you do for work or how you stay sain during the winter.

If you’re willing to work in hospitality the Ritz Carlton hotel in kapalua is a great property to work at. Secondly ritz is owned by Marriott which is a fantastic company to work for as they’re everywhere in the world you have the ability to move anywhere and not be restricted by employment.

Good benefits, tons of opportunities to move up within the company. Depending on your background there may be a position that aligns with whatever you’re already trained in.

I don't know any gigs but I can sympathize with having to move where your girlfriend wants, Maui sounds way cooler than Connecicut though

My buddy makes bank out there working on a sailboat that does snorkeling tours and sunset cruises - sounds like not what you're looking for but seems like there's some solid options out there

very jealous I love Maui

I worked at Sun Valley in Ketchum for a year and Heavenly down in South Lake so hospitality is definitely something I have been looking into. Ritz Carlton is opening a new building in Portland so might be worth taking a look, thanks man!

Definitely something I have been looking into, I was a zipline instructor at Heavenly so all about the cheesy tourist crap, make great tips and can actually meet some really cool people if your lucky. Will keep my eye out for this as well.
