Moving to Canada?

How hard is it to do? I'm just curious on the off chance that I'll some day get a job in Canada. Given how hard the news makes it sound for someone to move to the US I was wondering how it worked. Could I just move drive across the border and rent an apartment or what?

You guys thought this was going to be a really political thread didn't you? Suckers.

Just to give you an idea, my cousin just moved here from Scotland, she is 27, has and undergrad degree, inteligent, and has some money. It took about 3.5 years from here initial application to receving here visa from the government. She also had my parents to sponser her (a big plus) it really depends on a lot of factors.

There is no simple anser to your question.

There are three categories from imigration:

Skilled Worker: This category is for professionals and skilled tradespeople with at least one year of continuous work experience

Business Class: This category is for managers and business owners with high net worth, and requires an investment in Canada.

Family Sponsorship:This category is for citizens and permanent residents of Canada who want to sponsor a close family member.

my cousin was a family sponorship.

Save yourself 2 1/2 years and go through bunac. You can get a one year work permit in 6 months and could probaly extend it if u wanted. but ye its takes about 4 years.
