Moving to Bellevue...

Hey guys, im moving to bellevue in a few weeks in time for junior year, im a bit nervous that i wont fit in to be honest as most peoples "groups" are well past formed by then. What's the atmosphere like around there? I'm not going to ask what the people are like because i realize that would be a huge generalization.

What's the fishing like?

Do you think it will be easy to fit in? im a pretty sociable person...lolz

stevens or snoqualime (sp?), im thinking stevens right now, but sno would only be like 40 mins away.

Anyone live in bellevue and if so could you give me a run-down? i also run xc which i hear is a big thing up there, although im slow as fuck and just got injured, last years PR was like 18:30 :(

any help would be super cool!

thanks!

-jack

well sir bellevue as the city is cool and nice place cause theres alot to do just in that area but the people are kinda bitchy but not as bad as sammamish which is close to bellevue. fishing is a ways to go kinda but not far. i dont live in bellevue but just 10 minutes away and if your social you shit fit in just fine. also i would go to snoqualmie just becuase its closer and you'll most likely be able to meet people who can give you rides to the mountain but stevens is still fun to go to. you'll be just fine. :)

Well at least you'll have NS. We might come off like jerks, but most of the kids on here are swell chaps in real life.
What mountain are you coming from? I rode Snoqualmie for three years, and I now work at Stevens. Here's why:-One mountain. No need to switch hills to go between park, bc, and pow-worthy terrain-1000 ft higher means less rain and more pow-In the park: better jumps, more consistent maintenance. Snoqualmie is more diverse jib wise. -Tons of hiking access to sick backcountry-No lift bottlenecks (high speed quad to chair 2 at Alpy drives me nuts).
Though you should consider pass prices as well as your transport situation (40 min vs hour and a half) before making a call.
Definitely hit up Sky High on a regular basis. Lots of fun to be had there.

Since you are moving to bellevue just act like a huge faggot and you will fit in. Be sure to scoff whenever you see a poor person. Also ride crystal, it will help your status out with the other kids~

I worked at the Bellevue square mall for like 4 months, I've never been treated so badly by anyone until I met bellevue people. they are gnarly rude. But if you live in the outskirts of bellevue you'll be fine, just don't go downtown ever.

YES move to bellevue! also go to sammamish high school. I am also going into the same grade as you. Our public schools are ranked in the top 100s of the nation. If you do move to bellevue and are going to sammamish high school pm me. I can show you the works and just introduce you to some hommies of our school. Our xc from what i know is good. if you have a 18:30 I think you should be just fine.

well i come from a landfill called wilmot, which i have to drive 2 hours to get to, so compared to that everywhere is super sick! And i'll probably just check with the kids at my school and go where they go. Although the amount of rain people say there is at sno scares me!

Hopefully the people aren't as bad as yo say they are, as that would suck ass. Im hoping it'll be a cool place. And to nickthebird, i wont be going to sammamish(sp?) sowwy!

balls im nervous, anything else i should know?

where you going? looks like you know the "dawn" crew lol. i am really tight with them.

Snoqualmie is at least a step above a landfill. Probably two steps on a nice day.
Check out the pricing for the hills, and make sure you note the deadlines for when it goes up.
People are assholes online only. Usually, they're compensating for something.

I live about 20-30 mins away from Bellevue but I am always in that area. Go to Skyhigh for sure. its dope and Sno is super close and pretty chill. wou will like it if you like park. if your more into big mountain then consider crystal or stevens. I am XC girls captain at my school and your school continuously beats my school (mt. Rainier hs in Des Moines) in XC so your going to be pretty well set with an 18:30.

Nobody hold me up to the 18:30. I haven't run since like november cause of my knee, I'm probably slow as fuck now haha.

Oh and does anybody have a backyard set up and wanna Sesh before school? And do they check the summer reading books?

I hope you still have that cut on your face so you have to make new friends with it hahaha hahahaha. JKZ LULZ DONT LEAVE ME JACK... OH RIGHT WE LIVE IN COMPLETE SEPERATE STATEZ BUT WE STILL BFFZZZ RIGHT?

Dude you're so lucky you get to move out to WA, get shit done in Washington son and I bet there will be a bunch of chill kids that ski and shit and do meth...what? who said that? Whatever dude see you in Feb!

Hell of a post. Three sentences that said so much.

I work in Bellevue, and have for the last three years. It is defiantly a different crowd, but they have money, and are willing to spend it.

I found if I order a cup of coffee at starbucks, and then write archaic runes on the side to make it look like I ordered something gay, and expensive, I won't look like such an outsider.

Stevens is pretty sick all around and like david said it is all in one package. BUT, it is an hour and a half without traffic and when its about to be a banger day US-2 is a nightmare. And coming home from stevens on weekends always takes forever because it just gets clogged up.

Snoqualmie, while you can have some pretty crappy conditions sometimes, is super sick and if your a rail oriented guy snoqualmie is 100% where you wanna be (sorry david thats just the way it is). Also my favorite part about snoqualmie is its convienience factor especially with night skiing. You can just hop on i90 and be at the hill in 40 minutes. It is entirely possible to ski 5 days a week at snoqualmie because the night skiing is so legit. Plus on a good day Alpental is really legit and there is also a little bit more variety with hyak.

I'll admit that Snoqualmie's had the rail game for a long time. And if you're looking for close, cheap skiing, it's hard to beat.
Just keep an open mind about jibs in the Stevens park.

Lelz.

Yeah and I thinking sno for my seasons pas because of the conveineince (sp?).

Just went to orientation at Bellevue high too, some people like to flaunt their wealth, wowzas haha. Met a kid from Hawaii though, he was cool.

Im 100% sure i just saw you at xc practice haha. Im a junior at Bellevue too and my bro also said he talked to you today he was the guy with the white level 1 shirt. The people arent as bad as you might assume, some of the girls can be pretty damn snobby but other than that it should be fine, and also your going to find out that not a lot of people at Bellevue are serious about skiing (even though sno is 40 mins away) but there are a handfull of friends that do and during the weekdays sno or alpental is the best becuase night skiing goes all the way to 10 and with some fresh snow Alpental is great.

It's been gone for like a month ass wipe!

And I think I saw you, you had cherry pants? Haha

It felt so weird running, it was my first time since. Last year after tearing my collateral ligament

yup, i was the guy wih the cherry shorts haha, and the only people who really care about being fast is the varsity team so you dont have to worry about looking slow. and how long ago did you hurt your knee?

There's varsity cross country?!?!?! Wow!
I don't do cross country but at my school there's like maybe ten people and it's a combined team with another town...

(damn u INS) twisted, then I ran on it at a meet and couldn't walk afterwords, apparently I damaged my collateral ligament.

but if they make it to state or something, they can wear their letterman jacket around and act cool.

even though if it is cross country

Oh Bellevue. At least you're closer to skiing! I'll be at Stevens AND Alpental allllll winter. Word.

yea, they check and we will have a whole unit on it when we get back, cuz your going to be new at bhs you probably wont know anyone to cheat off of, so probs do it.

haha, i mainly use the sport to stay in shape for lacrosse season, and running from people is what you have to do everytime you have the ball so its pretty important
