MOVIE EDITOR

Adobe Premier is good or if you can find Final Cut Pro 3 it's hard to use but pretty much professional.

uh, i wouldn't say FCP3 is an 'old ass' version...yeah there's a 4 and some other side versions, but they're basically the same, especially as far as this guy is concerned. he's asking for help in choosing a program, which probably means he's a beginner with non-linear. he doesn't need the very few professional additions that one version newer would give him. also...FCP uses the same basic features as premiere. it's not tough to use at all. if you can use premiere you can use any professional style program. other companies used adobe's program as a base for thier designs...that's why in another post i said 'industry standard'. kinda makes sense, ya know?

obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. premiere comes nowhere near being the 'industry standard.' ever heard of a little company called Avid? (cept they arent too little). And FCP3 and FCP HD are way different, many improvements have been made not only in features but more realtime capabilities and its a lot more stable than FCP3(one of the reasons companies keep coming out with new version). Obviously if you want to get into editing you can start with something easy like movie maker or imovie but after a week you probably will start to get frustrated on lack of control you have in editing with those programs. the best way i recommend to learn is start off with a program that has an easy learning curve like Adobe Premiere and buy a book online from amazon about learning the program. most books you buy come with CDs of projects that the book will walk you through and you can learn how the program can be used. if you are having trouble with something the best thing to do is go to the forums either at www.2-pop.com or www.creativecow.net. both are great.

****POWER TO THE PEACEFUL****

premier is good but, but make sure you use premier pro either 7.0 or 1.5.. it blow the old version out of the water
