A friend of mine recently passed away from a rare type of cancer. I have joined a campaign called movember where you grow a moustache to raise awareness and money for prostate cancer. If every one on NS.com donated just $1 we could raise over $60,000. We are a pretty tight and powerful community. Please be thoughtful, selfless, generous, and help this good cause. What type of cancer was it? Sorry for your loss.

Prostate cancer is pretty damn common in older men, but often non-lethal.
 
it was cancer of the blood vessels. diagnosed a week before he passed. he was in his 20s.
 
come on everyone theres been 281 views and if everyone donated $1 that would have been $281s. Show some love and support please.
 
Definitley donate, my grandpa recently passed from what started out as prostate cancer then it went into his bones, its a horrible thing.
 
Yeah I've had 3 family members die from cancer. The most recent case was just a month ago. Help the cause!
 
Great thread Margs - we are sorry to hear about your loss!
Not only does Joystick back Matt Margetts, we also back the fight against cancer. Within our small company, three of our five employees have mother's who are all battling cancer. One of which is losing and only has a few days to live, literally.
Needless to say, its effecting our office pretty heavily.

If you live in the UK you can get a great hook up from Byron Burger restaurants for doing this.

They have a deal where if you can raise a minimum of £25 for Movember they wil give you a card (fill out some forms on the intermeweb first) that gives you a free Byron Burger every day of the week for the month.

Good cause + free food=result!

I got a movember shirt at goodwill in boston a couple of months ago and I had no idea what it was about until now.

If you don't live near a Byron Burger but know somebody who might then pass on the info. Its free food for them (so they'll be happy) and its money for Movember (so your balls will be happy).
