Move to Colorado or California?

Alright guys here's the deal... I'm about to graduate with my masters in May and am struggling with where I want to move to. Currently my top two areas are Colorado and California.

I think Colorado would be sick; you have the mountains, plenty of outdoor shit to do summer and winter, and its not as hectic or expensive as Cali.

California on the other hand has the option of skiing/surfing in the same day, Southern Cali has probably the best weather in the country, but it’s so damn crowded.

So I figured why not bring the question to Newschoolers. I’m sure plenty of you guys have experience in both regions… Let me know what you think.

Since you just graduated, I guess you are looking for a job. So I would go to where ever you can get a job

I like to go to Cali for vacation, maybe a week at a time. If I had the choice to choose to LIVE in Cali or CO though, I would definitely choose Colorado. I hear about a lot of opportunities for work (depends what you want to do) in the Denver area. That's not to say that I don't think California is terrific though. I would just rather have a permanent residence in CO.

I hate huge crowds and that whole feeling so it is a pretty easy choice for me, Colorado. Lived in Vail for a year right out of school and I would kill to get back to that environment.

I live in denver and my parents both lived in cali before i was born so i've been quite a few times and although i agree, the whole skiing/surfing in the same day would be sick, if you're looking for a job and find one in CO, take it. The real estate market in california is soo much worse than it is in colorado so it will be a lot more affordable to live here if thats a concern. And although the entire nation's economy is not the best, california's is definitely a lot worse than here. You definitely won't be bored here, tons of outdoor stuff to do no matter what season, but if it comes down to it, just go where the job is. Good luck man

mythreads cause this topic is somewhat of interest to me. graduating in may and these are my top two places i want to live

This. As a graduate, you don't really have the luxury of picking exactly where you want to go. Line up a job, then go where you need to.

I'm also looking to move after graduation expect I've got 2 more years to think about it. Salt lake is dope as hell and you can make some $$ there

It's in higher ed, student affairs. That means where ever there is a college, community college, or university, I can get a job. So I'm just trying to figure out where I want to start looking. Already found a job at the Universirsity of Denver.
