Mouth guards

nah dude he isnt being a pussy...trust me last year i knocked two teeth out..one front one and the tooth next to it....it sucks...i wear a mouth guard a lot now...its not fun losing your teeth
 
After a broken leg, 2 missing teeth, and a concussion... i'm ready to start being a pussy.

Helmet --- Yes

Mouth Guard --- Yes (on big stuff and rails)

Marker Bindings --- No
 
I like useing a mouth gaurd some of the time and protec makes a nice back pad that is comfy and works well that I want for big mnt. and rails.
 
you guys are also missing the main point of the mouthguard. The reason many athletes wear them it not to prevent injury to your teeth, but to prevent concussions. They are smart to wear in general. Whoever made the "dont be a pussy and just ski" comment, clearly has never gone big and bailed or messed up on a rail. I wear a full face guard helmet. It is comfy, warm, styley and keeps me safe.
 
A nice lightweight fullface would be the shit... I do wear a helmet basically all the time, but have never worn a mouthguard or backbraces?
 
Sorry Strum... i don't mean to bust your bubble. Mouth guards prevent very, very few concussions. Current studies done by the NCAA and other organizations show that theres not correlation between concussions and wearing a mouth guard. It's solely for dental and jaw protection. Most of the concussion part was a ploy by the mouth guard makers in in accurate and unofficial studies. And if you don't believe me:

I am an administrator and referee for a youth roller hockey league, and just recently we made mouth guards optional.
 
yeah i have the old giro flint helmet which has the face guard, doesnt really get in the way and prvides protection
 
oh man, good to know Grubix. I was under the impression that when people's teeth hit together it added to concussions. Thanks for the info!
 
My friend bit his tongue in half once. I like my tongue. I kind of need it. Teeth are also kind of useful.
 
yeah my parents spent thousands and thousands of dollars on my teeth, so i prefer to keep them intact. mouthguards aren't really THAT much of a hassel anyways. they save your ass from big time concussions too.
 
dude the best mouthguard is the ShockDoctor Braces Mouthguard, its fucking comfortable and i dont even have braces ne more
 
I can tell you from playing hockey that it definatly helps in preventing concussions though, seeing as how I have takes some pretty big hits in my day.
