Mouseover threads idea

Don't know if this has been suggested before but would it be possible to either put your mouseover a thread for a period of time, (not instantly so it wouldn't get annoying) and have the original post or a section of the original post pop up. Might be able to let stupid threads die without the facepalm posts that actually bump them to the top.

Yea, I like that idea. As you said though, It'd need a big enough delay to not get in the way or shit or it would possibly be one of the most annoying things in the history of NS
 
This is a great idea.But it would be an absolute coding NIGHTMARE.
I say we make it possible to have a little sub heading underneath the thread title to explain a little more. Or something to that affect. Do it a little like this:

Team America JOSS EditHere is the JOSS edit from Simon Dumont and Tom Wallisch
Just something simple, limit it to like 90 or so character, just to give a little extra insight on what the thread is about.
 
or just have a little box at the end of the title you could click and it would expand into a textbox with the first post or a few lines of the first post but it would probably be a coding pain im sure
 
i like this idea but i think alot of threads would go unnoticed since the majority of people never actually scroll down to check out other threads. so for it to take less space it would need to be a mouseover sub heading.
 
Yeah, that's true.I think all of these things in here are good ideas, I just don't think you could include the entire first post. There needs to be someway of shortening it, like sparknotes style.
 
i dont really care. i go through forums and open the threads that look interesting to a new tab, then look at them there. so i get like 3-4 threads in new tabs to look at without leaving the main forum page. i just got a concusion i hope my post makes sense
 
I support this idea, many other forums have it. a few times I've found myself mousing over an obscure thread title and waiting for a pop up before realizing this is ns and that feature doesn't exist.
 
i'm liking this idea alot. probably better than mousing over the thread. i can't imagine doing the code for that, might also make NS slower. Idk, i know nothing of website really
