dont do it, plain and simple...just take it to the shop. the only bindings that you can mount on your own with little experience is AT bindings, becuase most of those dont have jigs that you can use, so they send a mounting pattern along with the binding for you to use...but im assuming that you're mounting downhill bindings...just go to the shop.

Well i want to want to know how so i can work at a shop, because at our local shop they said they would hire me if i had knowledge of this shit. Like how do the people working in the shops get trained and shit like that

OR DOES ANYONE WORK AT A SKI SHOP AND KNOW HOW I CAN GET HELP OR GET TAUGHT THE ESSENTIALS AND SHIT LIKE THAT

none the less AT bindings still require cirten drill bits, not just your average drill bits, ones that you cant go through the ski with

yeah i forgot to mention that about the bits, there are bits that only go in for say 1cm, and then the bit expands out so you really cant drill into the ski unless you go to town on it...and in order to get trained, find a workshop or something of that nature to go to...i went to a ski tech workshop in colorado, it was put on by Vermont Ski Safety, two day workshop, one day they did binding mounting, the next day they did ski tuning, good info overall. and they get you certified with marker and salomon i believe right off the bat, so you're set with that. just look for some type of accredited workshop to go to.

you get trained by working in a shop. you have to get certified to be able to do binding work b/c of insurance stuff.

I mount bindings (only for dirt skiing), and can do it in about 5 minutes. You need a drill... and the bindings.

AND you need the right drill bit and a jig- dont fuck around with mounting your own binidngs if you dont have the proper equipment!

don't do it, usually if you apply for a shop they have a training weekend for the techs, usually you don't need to know that to get a job,

Seize the carp

unless they are line bindings, take them tothe shop, they have binding testers too, so they can get the right din

it's not to bad to make the jig and everything you just have to make everything somemetrickal(sp) and pratice on some wood to get it down before you even touch the skis.... i don't do it personally but my dad mounts all my stuff even raceing.

your dads a retard, I deal with people like you whose bindngs pull out all of the time because they think they know what they are doing. I am trained to mount bindings and i will only do them at the shop i work at, i wont even attempt to do them at home.

why wouldnt you do it at home? if you have the right bits and a jig....there is no problem...

yea, i just ment i would not try it with out the right equipment, i would do it at home, if i brought the jigs and bits home, but thats just to much work. i however, would not try it with my dewalt drill bit set and a paper jig.

the line bindings are great for that.... got me a pair....

good luck finding them though, line's not making them in 03-04 cause their supplier ate shit and died.......

vtrider is right, only a ceryified tech should be mounting binders, with good reason. If you want to learn, go to your shop, and ask if you can borrow one of their binding videos, or if you can watch while they do it.

You should belive everything you read on the internet, it's all true.

dont do it unless you have a jig and know how to use it...then its pretty easy...

just walk into a shop and say your from another shop and you need to borrow their jig cause yours broke...it works for me...
