Mounting without exact BSL

Hi All, I have some questions about mounting points and I was hoping you could help!

Essentially, I do not know my exact BSL as my boots are in the Alps. I am about to buy some Salomon Stance 96 along with the Salomon strive Gw 12 Bindings. They offer a free mounting I was wondering how much it would affect the mounting If the Mondo point was off by 1. My UK shoe size is 7.5 so I imagine my Mondo point is the low side of 26.5 for my tight boots. The BSL for my Head Vectors at this length is 305. How much will it affect the mounting position if they are a size down 293? How much affect is +- 6mm on mounting? If I am shoe size 7-7.5 will the MondoPoint be 26? Is it worth just trying to do it for a price in the Alps and wasting some ski time?

if your not sure do it in the alps. Better to take more time and get it right than something going wrong and being injured
 
i think you can get them mounted for sure but dont ride them until you get your boot fitted to the skis at a shop. I'd imagine that the strive has more adjustability than pivots so you should have some wiggle room

might as well just get them mounted at the shop if your going anyways

+- 6mm on the mounting position makes little to no difference.

That said, that's a ton of "ifs" in your message. I would not risk it. It's not a big deal to mount your bindings in the resort.

Alternatively, you could ask for a deal with new boots as well?
 
If the boot is a size bigger or smaller than what you get them drilled for:

A: the binding will adjust to accommodate the different boot size, the strive has a +-15mm range.

B: you will end up half the difference in the BSL ahead or behind the line, which won’t make a great difference to the ride of the ski.

the safe and cheap option would be to just get them mounted in the Alps with your boots and if you pick a sound shop they might do it for a 6er of beers and you’ll then have a friend in the techs if you need anything else done in the future.
