Mounting question!

Yeah I know there is a thread for mounting but I'm on a rush and don't want to look through 15 pages.

So my deal is, I have look pivot 18 on my skis currently but one of the heel pieces snapped. I am about to buy a pair of look p14, can I unscrew the old bindings and screw in the new ones since its the same set of holes? Or should I take me in to do so

technically you could, if i'm not mistaken all the look P... bindings are on the same template, but i wouldn't recommend it. Repeated use of the same holes can ruin the holes integrity and it could just strip out and the binding could pull of under high stress and force. if you do, use a small dab of wood glue in the holes to waterproof it so the core doesn't get wet or then the screws will strip. But i would recommend getting them remounted.

That sucks man.. If you just broke the upper part of the heel you could just replace that..

As long as the holes aren't stripped you're good to go. If you have stripped holes you'll have to heli-coil them. Take them to a solid shop with a good tech and you'll be fine.

I do exactly that quite often. As long as the holes aren't stripped it's totally fine.

Throw some steel wool and freezeproof carpenter's glue in the holes and your biggest problem will be getting the screws out if you ever want to. Epoxy works too, but certain kinds will dissolve a foam core.
