Mounting Price Question

I'm from Indiana, and we have a few bump on the log ski "hills", my home peak being Paoli Peaks, and here it costs like, 45 to 50 dollars to mount your bindings on your skis, for a professionally done job. Well, I just got new skis and new bindings in (not mounted) for my trip to Whistler and I was wondering if anyone knew the average price it would cost IN whistler to mount bindings. Is it cheaper, the same, what? cuz i gotta know how much money i need before i get over there, cuz vacation ain't cheap. much thanx!

im not sure about there but in fargo ND we have two places that sell skis and it only costs 15 so im guessing it would be about the same if not less

oh sweet. I was pretty convinced that 45 was a rip-off and the only reason they can charge that much is they're the only ski resort around here. So yeah, thanks dude. +K

ive payed 42$ for mine to be mounted... at a legit ski shop... otherwise sports authority will fuck up your equipment (mount um) for about 20$...... but i wouldnt let those fuckers lay one finger on my skis.....

Consider yourself lucky if you are only paying $45-$60. My local ski shop in MD truly has a monopoly. I just got my bindings mounted and they charge me 80 bucks. It sucks but there are no other places to get them slapped on so i had to suck it up and pay the price.

I don't think I've ever paid for a mount... but it having legit ski shops (and employees) helps.

Shops normally charge around $40 though, I think. But judging from this thread, you should expect it to be more.

the shop i work at its only like 24$ or 29$ i cant remember but its def not anymore than that

There are a lot of options for mounting bindings in Whistler. If you want it done cheap the best wayt to go about it is to check out some of the rental/tune up places which tend to be run by australians and offer them beer before you bring you gear in, see what they say. you can usually get a mount for a 15 pack. Beer is like cash to them. Other places would be Glacier shop, TMC, and comor, not sure on prices though. good luck

Yeah for some reason they think they can charge you 75$-80$ for a mount. I would aways tell them I got some of the stuff their and they would mount it free but then Ski Chalet stopped letting me do that

We charge a fortune for tech work because that is the only area of the store that can't be purchased online

Learning how to mount and tune your own skis is one of the greatest skills you can acquire in my opinion. I was a tech at perfects for 4 years and because of that I can go in there whenever I want and do whatever I want to my or my friends skis, so I haven't paid for any legit ski work in a few years now.
