best mounting point for faction prodigy 3.0? buying them for a travel ski for when I go out west to do some freeride and maybe a bit of pow

On the prodigies, they only mark the classic mount point on the ski which is around -8 from true center depending on your length. the newschoolers line is only +3 from that line, so -5 from true.

Please measure and mark your own skis mount point if you're going outside of that, which most people apparently do cause its wack. -3 from true is probably where I'd want mine too, thought people like Daniel Hanka are on -4 from true, I think.

Correct, recommended is between -8 and -9 which you should probably discard ( [tag=105085]@Twig[/tag] mentioned this multiple times)

You are correct, Daniel Hanka said on here he's riding his at -4, and I know Anti ride his at -2.

I have mines at -2 which is great for park, but I wouldn't recommend for the program you're describing, for this I'd go -4.

I do like to throw tricks and not just ride lines so -3 is sounding good, thanks!

that works too, my 2 cents is I still think -4 will be more stable and much better in pow, plus [tag=186380]@DanielHanka[/tag] has no problems throwing tricks there, but up to you!

I had mine mounted today

Not tried them yet but I did some math first to make sure the bindings are where I want them to be.

I’ll share the process

I got the 184

With 405 nose rocker and 325mm tail rocker

there is 1110 mm of camber left

half of that, plus the tail lenght brings you straight in the middle of the camber

555 + 325 = 880mm from the tail.

The "recommended" bmp is 836mm from tail, so 44mm back from the middle of the camber zone and 84mm back from true center.

So +44 is the further forward from the mark you want to go.

I don’t think it can feel nice with more camber behind your foot than in front of it !

Faction says the "new school" bmp is 30mm forward from the mark, so 866 from tail, minus -54 from true center, but only minus 14mm from middle of the camber zone.

I went with that and it seems alright.

I was hesitating between +30, +35 and +40...

I guess I’ll know if I made the right call when I’ll be sliding down the hill !

Choosing the right mounting point is a fucking mess, good thing faction have that grid with all the numbers of everything they make.

1.5 cm back from true center. By far the best install point place for freestylish stuff

Install point place

also not true at all with this skis dimensions, why would you want more camber behind you than in front of you

When I bought my prodigys I emailed Faction with this question. 1.5 back from center is where they said to mount and where their team mounts it. They told me that for the skiing I enjoy to ignore the recommended and go 1.5 back from center. Even is the roof box review for the 4.0 they said that mounting forward of recommended is better. Just going off of the recommendations I got from many people, and I love how the ski skis at that point. Also sorry my grammar is horrendous, I got bad dyslexia and don't always proofread my stuff.

Thanks dude!

I ride mine at -4 and really enjoy them. (Mainly free ride stuff.)

if you’re gonna be using them for park I’d forsure recommend -3.5 -> -2
