Well i am trying to see where i want to mount these. from this pic i looks like tanner has then about center.

I am thinkning about just going one or two back from dead center. Has anyone mounted these? or when people skied the demos last year where were they mounted.

Thanks

tanner mounts everything at center, i would say like -2.5 from true, it will be pretty centered but give you the option of everything, maybe even like -4 from true

Ya i think i will go with like 1 or 1.5 back from center it seems whenever i mount something back i end up wishing it was just a little more toward center

lower swing weight for spinnazz and more tail for landing backwards, also with the rocker you dont have to worry about tip dive.

This should solve ALL JJ mounting issues. Email Armada, Tyson was on the ball for sure.

So, to answer your question, in that pic T-Hall is riding them at probly 3 back from dead center. Hope this helps. Sure helped me!

Brent,

Thanks for the email

and most importantly thanks for picking up some JJs this season. I can 100%

guarantee you made a good selection and you will not be disappointed. If you’ve

never skied fat rocker technology, you’ll wonder where these skis have been

during your epic pow days of the past. I get stoked just talking about the JJ

and ARG; both skis literally change the way you will ski pow, and better yet

you’ll be able to ski longer as this technology relieves a lot of the effort

during the deep days. Without going on and on about the skis, let me get to

your questions. Our factory recommended mount point on the JJ is -5cm from

center; this point should be indicated on the ski by a line. To get the most

accurate measurement I would recommend measuring 82.5cm up from the tail and

mark your midsole there. At this point you will maximize the effective sidecut

underboot. Give that the sidecut is very compact on the JJ it is best to get

everything you can out of the sidecut, and subsequent turn radius. Anthony, JP

and Julien use our factory recommended line; however, Tanner and Jakob both

mount at -3cm from center because they ski and land switch quite often. If you

don’t plan on running the switch landing/skiing program too often definitely

mount at the factory recommended line. Hope this helps you out. If you have

any further questions please let me know. Thanks again and enjoy the

winter.

Thats for sure i had a few warrenty issues back in the day and he sent me the next years model of the 2 skis i had issues with. Armada is a stand up company for sure

the most i think i would move up is 1cm from the factory line. making them 4cm back from true. or i would go with the recommended line. the sidecut on a ski like the jj is very specific and if you get too far infront of that it begins to drastically effect the way it skis. if tanner and jacob are really mounting them 3 back then it probably works. but you have to remember that they are tanner and jacob. they are some of the best in the world and could probably ride a ton of skis at various mounting points and do really well (and they might be mounting them there for a very specific purpose). the average freeskier may struggle- or at least not get the most out of the ski- by moving the mounting point around too much

I'm kind lost here. On the 185 jj there is a line across the ski that says midsole and that would be -5 from dead center. So +2 from the labeled midsole on the ski would be -3 from dead center. I wan to mount them 3.5 back from dead center so I should tell my retarded east coast never mounted fat skis before shop guy too mount them +1.5 centimeters from the midsole line.

Yay or nay? does that sound about right/good mounting point?

Sounds good to me man. Thats exactly what I plan to do with mine.

BUT and this is a big BUT, measure yourself and put a line were you measure using a marker or a slim piece of tape or something. If it's a 'retarded east coast never mounted fat skis before shop guy" then I wouldn't trust him to measure and possible screw it up, resulting in more holes in your precious JJs.

Bottom line, measure yourself.

i have taken out my jj's four times this season on man maid snow. what an amazing ski! just amazing! i mounted them with the mojo15. super sick.

I've seen your posts a few times now regarding how much you like your JJ's. A question for you, did you mount on the recommended line?

so i e-mailed armada too and the above e-mail is fully legit. everyone except tanner and jacob are -5 from center and and tanner and jacob are -3 from center

im mounting mine at the center of the running surface of the ski, wich is 2.5cm back from the center of the whole ski (including the rockered tips and tails). so pumped.

if i mount mine -4 from true center will i be alright to ride and land switch fine? i might be able to get a hold of this in my mind if it was a fully chambered ski, but i don't know how rocker skis. any help?

mounted them at the center of the running surface wich is pretty much 4cm ahead of suggested.

on the sidewall theres a "||||||||||ARMADA||||||||" thing and the first line after the A at the end of ARMADA is at center of running surface. the white line on the right is suggested.

hope this helps!

for sure, I'm just wondering cause I'm about to mount mine with some jesters. I'll probably go -3 from true center.

AHAHAHAHA.... I GOT THE EXACT SAME E-MAIL.

except that it started like this:

not the best pics but is should help

I really don't mean to be a dick, but how does showing a picture of your mounted skis do anything but claim the fact that you have a sick setup? I mean, it is in fact a sick setup (both of you), but showing pictures does absolutely nothing more than simply telling a person in words would do.

That being said, I guess a little claim here and there never hurt anyone.

As for actually talking about mounting, I will probably go at -3 myself, aka +2 from recommended. But just by looking at the ski, I can tell that it's really built for being mounted at recommmended.

Mounting a pair of Jesters btw.

meant for mounting at recommended? why do you say that? and why if you know that are you going to mount at -3 anyways?

What I meant was that when I look at the ski (shape, construction etc) I understand why Armada have chosen that exact point as recommended. The reason for mounting at -3 is because I want a bit more tail for riding switch.

you could be fine with either, they ski incredibly short tho so it depends if you like slightly longer or shorter skismount at recommended for touring, they ski best at -5, anything else throws off the way the ski is meant to ride especially for touringi have mine mounted with dukes and they're sick but you don't want them for 2+ hour tours

i have mine mounted recommended and i absolutely love them. OH MY GOD AN NSER THAT DIDNT MOUNT HIS SKIS FORWARD! Dude they engineered that line there for a reason. Yes they still ski well switch, yes they still spin fine. The sidecut on them is so small and so precise that i didnt want to fuck with the way the ski was supposed to be skied by mounting it center or anywhere forward of rec. JJ's rip and i couldnt be happier with their performance at rec.

i don't mind it but i do a lot of touring so i'm in good shape from it, it was definitely heavier than my bc100's with dynafits but for short tours they're totally finefor what they are, jj's are really incredibly light, the 175's weigh 6.75 lbs a pair making the 185's like a little under 8 lbs, so add 6 pound dukes to that and it's a pretty heavy setup but for what you're using it's lighti really would not recommend doing long tours on these though, they're a great slackcountry ski but if you're doing a 1.5 or 2+ hour tour you shouldn't use them
