i just bought some reno jibs and was wondering if anyone has mounted them not center like -2 or -3 and how would a symmetrical ski ride if that was done ?

yes i know you are supposed to mount center i was jsut wondering if it was possible and if anyone has done it i wouldnt mind not having to go back and forth to my car for park and all mountain

i have 171's mounted at -1.5 they ride great, still kill the park but help a little bit around the rest of the hill

mounting a symmetrical ski anywhere but center makes no sense. you will be working against the sidecut not with it. if you wanted a versatile ski, you shouldnt have bought a symmetrical one.

you guys dont get it im jsut asking if it is possible i have volkl karmas and salomon suspects and moment rubys. ill prob mount the center just never had symmetrical skis before

Sure it's possible, you could mount it wherever you felt the need to. It would be stupid not to mount it center. It would probably perform similar to any other skis you have that aren't mounted at the spot they've been designed. Mount them center.

You have a lot of skis.

Mounting at -1(or whatever the guy a few posts up said) means that you would be driving the core center of the ski a little bit more with the ball of your foot. On normal sidecut skis, core center isn't usually directly under boot center, it's ahead of it a bit. Mounting these a little back will change how they ski, but if he drives his skis hard it could be in a positive way... Doing this would be smarter than mounting a normal sidecut ski forward recommended(because this has some advantage even for carving), which most of this site seems to do with park skis(Pipe Cleaners and Chronics mounted center for a good example of stupidity). I think it depends on how you ski, and what your skiing.

09(?) Reno Jibs had two marks: center and -1, for mounting..

i assume you bought these as a park ski, as that is what they are intended for. well they are symmetrical. since they are your park ski, it only makes sense to mount them center as it will even everything out, weight, and riding switch will be easier.

so all in all mount center.

they'll feel different when you ride them for the first time, but after you wont notice.
