Mounting k2 hellbents

ive heard that its good to mount hellbents center because thats were the rocker is at, but if im getting them only for powder and no jumping or tricks, would i still want them center or a little more behind

id still mount center and no more than one or two cm back,

the rocker isnt actually under your foot but farther out towards the tip and tails.

i skied them for 3 months in POW, not a park rat, that being said... mine are mounted +5 .

if your skeezing park go center.

the ski is supa DOPE! just dont get back too far on the tail or you WILL get a heel piece in the Arse

don't mount them center unless you plan on doing an extensive amount of fakie riding/landing. if you are getting them for pow and plan on riding forwards most of the time, mount them at a more conventional spot, back from center.

and for all you dummies, the rocker IS NOT at the center of the ski. you probably don't even know what a rocker is. the rocker is the point where the ski lifts from flat at the tip and the tail, no where near center.

by not mounting centre or near centre you are taking away so many possiblites of landing backwards. furthest back i would mount them is about -4 from centre. they are so huge and have so much rocker that there is no way that you will tip dive.

I just took it straight from the people the ski was designed for... so I would assume that's the right answer.

^ im sure that people know that rocker is the tip and tail are both curved upwards and that the section underfoot is flat.

but i havew heard from many people including chris benchetler that the graph on the side of the ski has no relation on to where yuio should mount them, because the centre of the ski is the middle between the rocker of the tip and tail.

There meant to be mounted in the center.

Thats what andy and pep do.

Its not like it will be like a normal ski where if you mount it center you will have to be leaning back the whole time in powder.

Pretty sure there arent any cons of mounting them center.

that's what andy and pep do eh? well they're also landing fakie off 50 footers at speed and hitting very large bc jumps backwards. are you? for 98% of people who will be riding hellbents it's totally unnecessary to mount them anywhere near center. this dude even said he is not going to be doing any switch riding on them. i swear all you kids just want your skis to look cool and center mounted when you're riding the lift and standing at the top of the terrain park.

why not mount them centre dumbass

your not going to get tip dive you just have less swing weight and you can land backwards really easy.

and they are designed to be mounted farther forward, mabe not centre but far forward

ill say this one more time and ill be more direct, i dont give a flying fuck about skiing switch, im not a park rat, why would u ever waste your time in powder doin gay steezy tricks when you could just ski, so could anyone thats on the same page as me, tell me where to mount them

^we understand that

but they are designed to be mounted centre and they will blow your mind at centre

Call K2 and explain to them what kind of skiing you plan on doing and see what they say. Im sure the nice people at k2 will be able to suggest the best place to mount based on your skiing, as well as clear up whether or not they really were 100% designed to be mounted center. An alternative would be to talk to someone at a good ski shop (i.e. not sports authority... though if your buying hellbents im sure you have more sense than that) and im sure they will be more than educated enough to help you make your decision.

i am head tech in a ski shop i have been riding hellbents since febuary..... the rep as well as k2 tech have told me they were designed to be mounted at DEAD center they are the freestyle rockered twin.. if you want more of a big mountain rockered twin thats what the pontoon is for....

the pontoons shovel is way bigger than tha tail... more ideal for directional skiing!

if you dont give a fuck about going switch then why are you on the hellbent over the pontoon in the first place?

pontoons mount at suggested hellbents at dead center

i dont want pontoons because there not as versitile as the hellbents, and i like the feel of a freestyle ski, i like to dick around some times with stuff like that, jujust im not all in to siing switch in powder all day

Dude, they are so fat that if you can't shred pow with them center mount, you should buy another ski. Or a snowboard.

If your not going to ski switch there is NO point of mounting center, kids on this site are fucking retarded when it comes to mounting skis. Most people mount pow skis at atleast 7cm back. With the hellbent I recomend going 5 back.

The suggested mounting point on the EP Pro's is about 1cm back from center. These skis are relatively similar so I think about 3 cm back would be good for you since you are not going to be riding switch.

Ok buddy..calm down.. Let me ask.. VERY DIRECT.. why again are you getting hellbents of you never plan on riding switch or doing tricks? Why not pontoons? I believe you have the wrong ski picked out for yourself.

Ok n/m.. i stopped reading, b/c I was like wtf are you thinking. I still think the pontoon is a better fit for you.

Pontoon, Or 4frnt EHP or a BIG MOUNTAIN SKI. If you don't like getting "gay in powder trying steezy tricks" why would you buy a ski that was made exactly for that...I have ridden lots of k2 skis in pow and I think anything behind +7 is too far back. And none of those had rocker.
