I usually try to mount recommended. The ski will almost always be designed around a certain mounting point - flex patterns, sidecut, are all based on where you mount the ski. Although they offer different mounting points I firmly believe in having them at recommended. If you have a symmetrical ski, then mount it at center, if you have a ski like bacons, then mount them at -6 which is recommended. The ski is meant to perform best when mounted in one place. Thats not to say that you can't slay if you mount them somewhere else, its just that in my personal experience it works better that way.
