Mounting fat twins.

So I'm going to try alpine this year and I got a pair of 185 Pocket Rockets which will pretty much be my only ski. I'm planning on using them as an all mountian ski. I'll ski pow whenever it's around and ski park when it's not. Also We build lots of booters and I'd really like to work on landing switch in powder off cliffs and stuff. And of course ski groomers and whatever else is available. So how should I mount them. I was thinking like 2 cm forward of the mounting line. But what do you guys think? How do you guys like to mount your fat twins? hehe

Haha I knew that was coming. Congrats on beating everyone else to the punchline.

i would prolly go with something not to expensive but with plenty of tip, so get the AK Rocket Pilots, and go +1 or +2 when mounting them, they arent to bad price wise, probable not much more than fifteen hundred cash, however the 142 cm line ghetto blasters are much better equipped to ski powder and arent much higher priced than the ak rockets

I'm gonna mount my 185 ARV's at +1.

+3 is core center on Armadas so I think +2 might be pushing it.

I just took out my 185 arvs today for the first time, theyre sick, I mounted them at the line... Unless youre going to be skiing a lot of park on them, I would just mount them at the line. Makes for a better pow ski that way.

I just took my Made 'N AKs into a shop last week and I have no clue where they're going to mount them.......get them mounted at +20.

So then he fell...and I laughed.

^haha, i dont think +20 wud work so good. im wonderin the same thing. i just got 179 pistols, and ski the same as telestar. Pow whenever its around, and park when its not

I like to mount my bindings 12 inches off center, and then left.

Skiing.

I wont ever tell you that your not good enough or that its not wokring out, it wont ever tell you that you were better off being a friend, it wont ever just leave you in the dark, and it wont ever do anything that you dont like.

Do not mount them foward from center! That's I'll I can say other than I got my 178cm twins 4cm back from center and that works for me.

Skibum I'm thinking of just going with the line. The pistols and PRs are very equally weighted as it is so the boot mark is pretty close to the center as it is. After looking at my skis with boots lined up on the mark they looked right about where I want them. I think I'd only go at most +2.

if your gonna ski pow with them, mount them on the line. If you don't on the deep pow days you'll have to ride backseat the whole time and that gets your legs tired quick. And good choice getting some training heels.

put them in the normal place, that is how the ski is designed to ride. if you wanna be a park rat and not be able to ride powder then put them forward. all of my skis have a normal mount, some are a little further back and they are just fine riding/landing in powder switch. don't move the binding forward unless you will ONLY ride the park.

Shit! Everyone beat me to the punch! For what its worth: Mounting fat twins is always fun until your friends find out.
