Mounting Donner Parties

I hate to make this thread, because I get pissed at them too, but I am in a bind. Just got a pair of 09/10 donners for 300 bucks (stoked), and they suggest -5 from center, I was thinking -3, or something a little closer to center, they have that equal rocker in the tip and tail, and the tail is only 5mm thinner that the tip, I love to ride switch in pow, but I also dont want my riding to be fucked up from such a foward mount. Let me know. Thanks

Mine are mounted right on the line and kill it there forwards and backwards. I would be weary of mounting too far forward because they are reverse sidecut and you don't want the widest part of the ski to be too close to the midsole of your boot. If you want to mount forward, I'd only go 1 or 2 cms forward of the line. but thats just speculation so take it with a grain of salt.

Just remember that change in mount point can affect a reverse sidecut ski much more easily than a normal sidecut ski.

I had the same issue, I put mine -3.5cm rather than -5, I'm fairly small though (60kg ish) they ride flawlessly, my weight was a big factor in me moving the mount forward though.

Oh, and I love the skis!

yeah im a smaller and lighter kid and i put mine at -3 from center. seem perfect but i also havent gotten to use them too much

I love them in anything soft. Takes a little while to get used to turning on groomers though.
