im probably doing it. I ski 60%park 40%all mountain and i want good performance in park with decent all mountain.

any words of wisdom/ encouragement/ warnings before i do it?? thanks

Mine are mounted halfway between recommended and center, I forget what that is exactly. It's gotta be like 3cm back or something. They are 166cms, I'm like 5'4'' and they are as tall as I am. They are really fun there, I'd say go for it.

177s? is this the old model? because they are very different... Also, have you played with many mounts or not?

Oh and one abover me, half way between reco. and center is -3. I agree, -3 should work, but I would even say -4 could be great. I rode chronics at -6 switch and they ski fine in park...but center they suck. The flex felt way fucked up, they didn't carve smoothly. Oh and both those were on 181s of the current model(sick topsheet 08s center, ugly ass same ski 09s at -6). They were made for a certain mount(flex was built around it) so the closer you are the better...really they are so smooth at -6.

LINEskis, you need to add a new ski next year... CHRONIC PARK. Make a chronic, with that equal flex that gets softer as you go farther, but have the flex a sidecut made around a -2 or -2.5 mount. That would really actually put you guys in the competition for best jump skis for a pure park person(not that they wouldn't work all mountain). When you realize how perfect this is I claim a blem pair! =)

I think that they aren't overly soft when mounted at the right spot(-6, where there is = tip and tail flex) and that they have a smooth flex there. If the sidecut stayed 111/86/108 or so(possibly a few mm more tip) but the sidecut shape changed to put the skinniest part of the ski at the ball of your foot mounted -2, and the flex was made equal tip and tail aound that same -2 mount then that would be a great ski. It would be the only Line park ski I would enjoy skiing at my favorite mount(sorry, I hate athems/invaders/blends and don't like the current Chronics mounted where I like park skis mounted..and I don't use all mountain skinny skis). I don't find Chronics overly soft or too overy stiff...but I don't like 2x4 park skis even for jumps

allright this thread is pissing me off as do a lot of chronic threads. the chronics have SYMETRIC FLEX the only thing stopping you from having a symetric ski is a 3mm diff. in the tail serioulsy. they dont ski wierd at center but if yur doing some all mountain mount em 2 back or so its your choice but dont be afraid of center

wow, so mounting 3mm off the mount that the flex was made around is the same as mounting 60mm off? Yeah I am sure.. In fact, why didn't Line just make another symmetrical ski? Oh yeah that's right they have those and they aren't retarded so they made the all mountain ski perform best at the -6 mount they gave it. Believe it or not, some skis have a flex that gets really messed up when you mount the ski 6cm off the reco. mount. A ski like Thalls will have a much wider option of where to mount the ski while still having it perform, but with Chronics mounting them center makes them suck. People often confuse sucking and not working. They work but they don't carve well at all.

heres an example: Wouldn't it be retarded to mount Invaders at -6, because that is so far off the mount they were made for? It's the same thing here...Chronics also have a symmetrical flex at -6, so mounting them center is fucking retarded and you obviously have no idea what you are talking about, and probably have never skied them anywhere but center.

I think by symmetric flex they mean it's the same going out from the recommended mount, not from the center. Why would the flex originate from the center if it's not designed to be mounted there. Shouldn't it begin form somewhere near the center of your boot? I'm still riding 07-08s (orange ones), did they change the flex the last two seasons?

Yeah, that's what I said. They have an equal flex from the -6 of true center mount, which is why they suck center. I was saying it is as stupid mounting Chronics center for park as it is mounting invaders -6 for all mountain. I still say they ride fine switch at -6 and still spin fine...although not ideal. Mounting center doesn't help their switch riding at all. So comeon line, make Chronic Park...that would be a fun ski.

Oh and the orange 08s are the same as 09s and 2010s, with the best graphics by far IMO. I had the Orange 08s like you and the graphic is even better is person...so flashy but not bright if that makes sense. One of my favorite graphics ever, but behind 2nd gen yellow Seth Pistols, and 07ish green/animal SFBs.
