Mounting chronic blends

has anybody mounted these or prophets with the metal matrix true center or a couple cm back? im just wondering how far foreward you can go because the carbon matrix is set back something like 8cms which is super far back

The center of sidecut on those skis is 85mm back from running length center. You can and should ski those skis forward of that point. I would suggest going forward 40-50mm which would put you .5 to 1 inch back from running length center.

I would definitely not suggest going true center as the narrowest point of the sidecut is so far back and the performance of the skis would suck except when in the air or on a rail...but I guess if that's all you do.

Hopefully that helps.

hey, the last dude is exactly right. Mine are mounted 40mm ahead of the reccomended mounting point

just as a note, the matrix in the blend isn't metal, it's carbon, like the carbon stringer in the regular chronics, but because it's the matrix it equals more carbon which equals lots of pop

i got mine true center. havnt skied them yet, and im not a total park rat. it just would feel weird for me not to have them in the center

how does that make any sense? You would feel weird putting them in the right place but you have no reason not to (ie: you don't ski only park)?

even when im not skiing the park, i am skiing switch alot of the time on each run. some runs i ski only switch and i still want to go switch in pow and whatnot. it feels really weird to me when i go switch on skis that aren't center mounted.

mothership flites are similar dimensions to those, and i have mine 2cm behind true center and they are awesome, so much fun. i dont ski much powder though so idk how they would fair with serious west coast stuff

I just bought those too, and I am a little concered about the midsole mounting point that is marked on the ski. I measured, and if you mound at the midsole, you will have 7 more inches of ski in front of your boot than in the back, so the obvious conclusion would be to mount them more forward, but what will that do to the performance with that stiff carbon fiber matrix? I ride alot of park, but wanted something for some deeper snow and some all mountain too, so any ideas on mounting?

yeah it looks as if the mounting point is directly 1/2 way btw the underfoot matrix if that makes any sense. But there is no way I would ski them soo far back. You'd have NO tail what so ever.

I was thinking maybe -2cm from center would be good... or +6.5cm from recommended.

The marked point is 8.5cm back from true center. I had them mount them 4.5cm back from true center to be more like the regular Chronics (5cm back) that I used last year.

I plan on picking up a pair, and i would mount mine 2cm back from center.

recommened is 8.5 cm back...im think i want to go forard more so i want to hear what people have to say
