Mounting Bindings

Out of curiosity how many of you put your bindings in the very center vs. putting them an inch or so back? I put mine right in the middle when I started skiing park and I'm still working on carving really nicely with them ( I hate it when guys throw sick tricks but can't ride with style) Also, how many of you mount your own bindings?
 
well true center is where i have mine mounted. but they mark on the skis where the balance point center is
 
There are massive arguments over whether or not to centre mount twin tips. My AR6s are mounted at true centre and they carve just fine, although they're useless in power. If you want a safe place then mount 2.5cm back from true centre. Still very easy to ride switch and the skis will carve well.
 
first of all skis are measured in the metric system, ie centimeters and millimeters. depending on recommended mounting points and personal preference. if you haven't skied much do what they recommend and pay someone else to mount your ski. if you are interested about learning how to mount skis. go watch them mount your ski, ASK ALOT OF QUESTIONS, get off newschoolers. if you think you'll get good info here and not get trolled you are high or just stupid.

but in my opinion i prefer my skis one CM back from center, i am also not a park rat, i ski mostly steep powder, cliffs and tree jibs, pretty much anything but groomers. i ride fat skis as well.

if you are a park rat. center is legit imo. then you ride the same going both directions. but i know little about those twigs they call park skis.
 
I was referring to the post above me talking about a balance point (only applicable to tele and nordic). Most recommended mounting points have to do with sidecut and core material, and then can be individualized from there depending on the intended use.
