Mounting Armada El Reys

Alright, I'm super stoked because I lucked out and got the last pair of 178cm El Rey's in Canada. Now I have to figure out where to mount them. Any recommendations? I got the Rossi Px12 Jibs for the binding.

I'm 5'10

160lbs

Aggressive All-mountain skier.

Novice at park

Using this ski as my all-mountain pair. For trees, groomers, off-piste, etc.

I'd also like to use these in the park from time to time.

Should I just get them drilled at the recommended mounting point? Or would it be alright to go 1 or 2cm back from core center? I definitely want to be able to ski powder and be able to carve on these.

Sorry for all the questions. I haven't bought a new ski in a long time so I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be great!

Armada's regular recommended mounting point for all of their skis is usually pretty far forward, so I would mount these at the recommended point if you plan on using them all over the mountain. If you want to use these when the pow comes along, I wouldn't mount them too far forward.

taking into consideration the size of the ski and your size, I would probably mount closer to recommended than to true center. Unless you'll be heading into the park more than 75% of the time, I wouldn't go anywhere near true center/.

4-5cm back from true center should do the trick.

I had a similar pair of skis, mounted 4 back from true center, that I used all over the mountain. They skied fine foward and still felt good switch and in the air.

yeah, man just go recomended or maybe a cm forward of that. I think those elrays rec. is about -5cm from core center which would be perfect for an allmountain mount. If you're gonna go to the park more maybe a cm or two up...

Just a quick update. I got them mounted today, but on one of the heel pieces, one of the screws hasn't been drilled down enough. There's like a 2 or 3mm gap between the plate and the ski. Not good!!!

So will this be an easy fix. Just take them back to the shop or even screw it down myself?
