Mountains in CT

Hey NS, I live in Ct but I go up to Mount Snow pretty much every weekend. However there are sometimes when unfortunately I am unable to go for the weekend, so does anyone know any mountains that have good parks in or near Ct. All I ski is park so if the mountain does not have one I am not interested.

ski sundown always has a sick setup. also powder ridge just reopened and i heard that they are trying to be a par oriented mountain so it might be worth it to check that out... also look in regionals

Come to Mt. Southington, at first glance Sundown seems better, but once you start riding here you'll realize our park is much more legit. Currently we have a 25 and 35 ft jump, 6 rails including down kinks and flat kinks, and 2 boxes. After this recent snowfall were also adding a DFD tube feature.

BOOM. FINALLY. AIGHT. I work at powder ridge in the rental shop finally get to mention that shit on ns. We have a park complete with its own chairlift and halfpipe. Right now the park, halfpipe and chairlift aren't open. Go to sundown.

So you have 10 features total...? We have 10 in our progression park alone.

Sundown currently has 2 parks, 16 rails (ranging from 16-40 feet, various kinks and curves), and 3 jumps (6ft, 10ft, 20ft). Park rebuilds happen fairly regularly (park crew bored, they change it, we're on our 5th variation of the park this season and will probably have another major overhaul soon).

Other mountains to consider, Southington (2nd best option), Powder Ridge (if they can ever get their act together...it's kinda sad currently - no offense to the guy who works there), and Butternut (if you feel like driving slightly north of CT). Mohawk doesn't have park, Woodbury is sketchy as shit, and everywhere else is far enough that you might as well go to VT.

In our defense, we have a much better environment here and everyone who rides park knows eachother. You ever feel like coming down here, pm one of us, and we'll be sure to help you out. It may be small, but its a lot better than a bunch of random assholes riding a bigger park

I've skied Southington and have nothing against it (and Evan knows that...or should since we've have this discussion before). To say Southington has the better park and then say they have half as many features just seems odd. And as far as the people go, I think it's pretty even, I don't know who you had experience with when you were at Sundown, but I know pretty much everyone who skis park there and I don't think any of them are assholes (and this is coming from someone who "yells" at them constantly from breaking rules...which I honestly hate doing.)

When I was in my teens Mohawk used to have a jump line and a halfpipe. Not anymore. Those assholes refused to ever build a park.

Like Walmer said, check out Sundown. I always had fun there and the people there were generally pretty chill. Butternut's a good option if you've got wheels and Great Barrington is a cool spot to hang after, especially if you're of age, which I'm guessing you're not?

Supposedly tomorrow for the park. We have no groomers or anything with park experience so its should be quite interesting. The halfpipe is open but from the sound of it the walls are far from vertical. I'll be on the hill on Monday and will check back in with you guys..... Go to southington.

lol the people who work there are the only people who truly understand what a mess it is. Last week or so things are starting to come together though.
