mountain creek rail jam

whats up...

the mountain creek rail jam was yesterday. they put 3 rails together to make a 70 ft flat to down kink... 50 ft of flat 20 ft of down... i felt the judging was biased to snowboarders.. one, because there were only 3 skiiers in the comp and about 30 snowboarders. At the end of the day a snowboarder took home 400 bucks... and the skiiers got screwed.

I was there and im gonna have to agree with you about it being bias to snowboarders. The judging in the finals was bullshit too. How are you really gonna have a rider judged event when some of the riders know eachother and some don't know any of them. Four of the snowboarders in the finals all knew eachother. They knocked people off they didn't know no matter how big there trick was then split the prize money between the four of them. Shittiest judging system I've ever seen.

yeah i nailed the switch up... i was like 'this is the last time i get to hit a rail until like december... so i gotta get it' and i stomped it perfect im still stoked.... are you the other kid that was in the comp on the skogens???

Nah..I would have to say the judjing was fair. The snowboarders were just plain smoother. That 270 you threw was balsy, but you flailed in the air and you fell off the last rail halfway. The snowboarders that won, clearly and deliberately slid the whole thing.

Im talkin about the finals not the prelims, the prelims clearly were fair but the final was a shitty setup i think. People that all knew eachother made an alliance and kids they didn't know didnt have a chance. I know my 270 was ugly as shit i even admitted it to Adam that it felt like one of the ugliest things I've ever done. But i did grease the whole thing unatural on my first chance of five in prelims.

no problem. i know the people that put on the event and it was the guys who build the parks. They just wanted to do a fun event that had a different format. Basically it was the guys from parks & pipes thanking everyone for a great season. they even volunteered their time for the event. if you ask me, we are the ones that should be thanking them, not vice versa. the park this year was absolutely insane.

Yeah i thought it was a really good competition especially for how last minute it was. I give a lot of credit to mountain creek for everything they've done this year. There parks were sick all year round and the crew was always working on everything to keep it in the best shape possible. I'll definetly be getting a season pass next year and can't wait to see what new shit they have to offer. Props to the mountain creek park staff.

yeah... i agree that mountain creek is very sick and the park crew does a good job... as far as that judging comment... it kinda sucked how my two buddies got screwed out of not being able to register... we went down to register and it was closed.. then when we came back up julian radioed down for them to bring up 3 more bibs for me and my buddies... then two snowboarders snaked em and took the bibs to then we were down 2 more skiiers, and we couldve made a skiier category... overall it was a fun rail to hit, definately a challenge, but its kinda hard for 2 skiiers and a barebacked hick skiier to take on 30 snowboarders in a rail comp...
