So does anyone here do any cool DH or freeriding? What do you all ride? We have a little crew in the Wyoming plains going. We mostly just durban, but we go down to CO for DH sometimes, and we have some nice drops on the edge of town. Nothing huge, but pretty hard.

ya i ride around banff and sometimes head out to seymour and whistler, i have a rm7 dh edition with custom factory paintjob, shivers on the front, 5th element on the back

I live just south of The Shore. Yee. I can't fucking wait to get my 04' Stinky. Then I see the new Norco Atomik. Shit. Same price too. I think I'll stick with the Kona though.

 
You ride Boulder? Ride campus. We ride at the UW campus all the time, and they're are some pretty cool drops, ledges, and the such. Just ride your ass off when the cops come.

And my friend is thinking about getting an RM7 frame. Its custom paint too. Its bitchin. I ride a Big Hit Comp. Nothing special, but I'm gonna sup it up over the winter.

A new RM7? Or a used one? If it is used, it could be cracked, and the original owner is sealing the splits. But what did do I know. I heard it before.

 
ya the bike is expensive, but once you have the bike it's free to ride anywhere, whereas you need to pay whenever you go skiing

i ride a p.2 for urban/freeride. no money for a DH and also too many hills where i live..

I got a 2003 BigHit with a Boxxer. I live in burnaby, so I ride SFU mostly. I get over to the shore once in a while, but I am pretty new in town, so I don't know a lot of peeps to ride with, or have a car to get over there. If anyone wants to ride, let me know.

Also, I have a Specialized GroundControl FSR Comp for sale, if anyone knows someone who is looking for a decent starter dually. $900!

i ride the firemountain but next year im getting a new bike. i want the caldera but its kinda expensive so im looking toward the cindercone. its looking like a good bike but im not familiar disc brakes or the marzochhi comp fork. any info would be helpful.

just my opinion, tell your friend to save his coin and buy a NEW bike, cause freeride and dh bike get hammered no matter how you ride them.

i ride everything. DH, urban, XC, jumps, shore and trials. I race loadsa downhill and used to race XC too but it's too knackering. It's way better riding everything than just sticking to one thing but you need about 5 bikes to do everything properly. That's the only downside. I'm 2/5 there though.

 
I'm all about DH, Freeride and Dirt Jumping... just getting into a bit of trialsy stuff too all on my Kona Stuff.

Looking at getting a big squishy next year but I prob won't cause I love my little hardtail....

 
street, dirt jumps, free riding. ride alot with kyle ebbet and aaron chase. lots of kids here that are gonna blow up.

im thinkin about buying an ironhorse sgs 2003 pro. it has a boxxer front fork and a 5'th element rear shock

^very nice bike for the price, now that the seasons almost done, you can prolly pick one up for like 1800 or sumtin, which is a killer deal for that ride.

 
what about the marzochhi comps are they any good? i heard that they were really cheap but they sell good cause marzochhi hypnotized peeps with their bombors.

 
I'm riding my 4 yr old $400 full suspension cosco bike. I detest the thing. biggest peice of crap ever, though it has withstood a lot of pounding. cheapest rst forks ever made probably. Untill I either quit school, skiing, or sell shity ass car I'll be stuck with this thing. maybe next summer I'll have the cash for something decent.

personally, id stay away from the RM series. i looked into buying one cuz they are dope lookin and thomas and wade ride em (so they must be good?), but they have a bad leverage ratio which causes em to blow shocks a lot. and at least on some of the older models, the swingarms cracks. everyone i know who has an RM has had to rebuild the linkage...

i had a 1998 fsr elite, and now i have a 2001 FSR team downhill, and they were both bomber. no problems whatsoever. the team dh is so beefy its great. got it built with a boxxer, xtr, atom labs, etc. killer ride. i like to think of the FSR as a budget intense. :)

also have a kona chute for urban/jumping/trials...

shibby, its the shit, its inbetween heavy and light, so you can do trials but also freeride, and cross country if you want to,

marz dropoff comp is upgrade from bomber last year

shimano mechanical disc

sun ditch rims and nokian tires

all around good parts and sweet frame

i sleep at the terrain park

Im riding Xc right now i have a Trek 9.8 elite i did one 24 hour race this summer. And then i have a P.2 that i ride Urban and Took it out downhill riding one time.

 
hey if you call marzocchi and complain about the fork on it they will most likely let you upgrade to the dirtjumper 3 for only 100 bucks. on the p2. the fork it comes with is a crappy entry level fork. complain hardcore and they will hook you up.
